Climate Control Seat Issue
Climate Control Seat Issue
I have the climate controlled option on my convertible and when i turn the driver seat selector to any position other than straight up, i see
the light come on and I hear the seat blower fan come on and about 4-5 seconds the blower stops and the light on the selector goes out.
I won't turn on again until I turn the car off then back on, then does the same thing. The passenger seat seems to work fine.
What could that be? The heating element in the seat? If so, are these easy to replace or no?

These specific 'Vert seats have a small history of wiring/ connector failures, specifically melting. You might want to look at this thread for details/ what to look for.
These specific seats use a TED (Thermo Electric Device) to heat and cool the seat in conjunction with the fan. There is no traditional "heating element" as is found in other heated seat models. I doubt the TED is bad. In the unlikely event it is, the whole seat cushion(s) would need replacement. Even if they are available, they would likely cost more than the car is worth.
Start with the connectors mentioned above and we'll go from there.

it like a harness you would replace?
It would be far easier and cheaper to just replace the connector if that is indeed the issue. Finding a replacement harness would be nearly impossible and likely break the bank as well.
Diagnose first. Then come up with a attack plan.
