I wonder if Infiniti is coming out with a new 'entry level Infiniti' in the near future and moving the Q50 into a newer level. I hope they don't push the Q50 closer to the 50k range with features added.
My lease is up on my '10 in about 8 months. I been trying to decide what to go for next.

Or to save gas and get something like the Fusion Hybrid or something.
I love my 37x and hope the Q50 doesn't price me out of it.

Its going to boil down what you add to the car.
As always, theres going to be specific packaging.
-Premium package, Sports package, Tech Package
Navigation and Around-view-Camera will be standard in all cars...but the Adaptive Steering combined with the Active Lane system and the ability to customize your steering ratio with the touch screen will be part of the tech package.
Expect the Q50 Hybrid to be atleast 7K more than the regular model.

Is the IPL Going to be Discontinued?
I did not see any mention of the IPL models. With the introduction of the new 'Q' models, is the IPL dead?
If so, mine may become an instant collector car!

I agree it's all about the product they put out, but I don't care for the name change.
Organizing by pricing, maybe the new nomenclature should be Infiniti MSRP48,469! A simple t or tt for turbo or twin turbo would differentiate the smaller displacement vehicles being superior. They could just keep their current letters and add hp numbers rather than displacement numbers. I think it is all part of their brand identity structure. It's why all Infiniti grilles look the same, regardless of model. They want to further push manufacturer identity and diminish model identity. For car geeks, it just makes it harder to distinguish. Now we're going to have badging on the fenders, for x, S and IPL models. He was pretty specific that new models will only be Q or QX followed by two digits only. The Q designates nothing. The current nomenclature is easier, means more, and most importantly, already exists and the current customer base understands it.
Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but if you look at the 2014 nomenclature on page 1, notice that the G50 reads Luxury Sports Sedan, and the G60 reads Sports Coupe/Convertible. Could this be a hint that the two may take on different objectives with the G50 focussing more on luxury, and the G60 focusing more on performance?
In the end, I and most will buy the car based on its merits, not its name.
