So after watching that video, it seems that the difference between the 2011 IPL G coupe and the 2011 G coupe will just be wheels, exhaust system, suspension, and obviously the tuning (for the extra few HP). That says to me that all 2011 G coupes will get that nasty body kit.

Hmm . . . I think someone above already mentioned that the IPL is more along the lines of the M-Sport Package BMWs and the S-Line Package for Audis and F-Sport for Lexus, both in terms of price and add-ons included. If we tune down our expectation accordingly, then the IPL is not a disappointment.

But do i want a M3/RS4/IS-F fighter from Inifiti? Hell yes! So in that regard, with the IPL not being a division which would do that, is a disappointment . . .

Seeing it in motion, the lower part of the front bumper actually kind of remind me of the 370Z's fangs . . .

I don't know how long this will be up but Infiniti is offering a forum to ask specific questions about the IPL G. So if you have any questions you can post them on this link and get an answer from the IPL Launch team.

IPLLaunch (IPLLaunch) | Formspring

BTW, if you wanna keep up with most of this add Infiniti on Facebook. Its updated pretty often with info.

Here's the answer to the most asked question.

Will future IPL models be limited to mild customization and engine/suspension tuning or will you start developing unique powertrains, platforms and styling?

Current IPL models will be limited to somewhat mild modifications, but as we progress into the future we expect that there will be unique powertrains and styling.

What are the engine specs on the G25? My vision is too blurry from taking a header wakeboarding today to read all the posts...

The wheels are very nice, but that front end looks like it should be on the front of those icebreaker ships in the arctic, or a cow-catcher on those old steam engine trains!!

I also wrote in to the forum that Infiniti is answering questions about the new IPL. I asked them if they ask car clubs and G enthusiasts / forums their opinions about upcoming model changes before they happen to get feedback. They did actually post the question and respond with a very politically correct response, saying that of course they ask G enthusiasts their opinions and value their feedback in shaping upcoming changes.

Obviously they didn't ask anyone about the IPL changes, or just refused to listen. I hope they don't continue down that course when it comes to the bigger body change expected in a year or two!

Everyone seems to forget that not enough people would pay $70,000 for a "M3 Killer". Sure that's what a lot of people think would be cool but if no one buys it then it's an extremely expensive thought exercise. Look at the IS-F, Lexus did what everyone wanted it to do and they sold really poorly.

why $70K?

Nissan sells the GT-R for way less than the competition. Infiniti sells the G35/G37 less than the competition as well. I'm pretty sure any future M3/ISF/RS4/RS5 killer will be much cheaper as well. The FM chassis does not require major changes for V8 swap or forced induction.
