So what was the surprise? The M35 Hybrid was shown and the EX30d diesel.

Infiniti cutting back on auto shows..

The big surprise might have been that Infiniti was there at all.
Infiniti announced last year that they were cutting back on auto shows (they were not in Dallas and a few others recently) in 2009 / 2010.

Here is an interview with Ben Poore from Infiniti. He mentions in this video the plan to attend fewer auto shows.
