Infiniti Surprise at Geneva 2010
This is pretty exciting news. I wonder what Infiniti is going to show us.

Along with today's announcement on the world premiere of the diesel-powered versions of the EX and FX SUVs, Infiniti also revealed that it will use the Geneva Motor Show to stage the global reveal of an all new production model. However the Japanese automaker did not give out any specific details.
To our knowledge, Infiniti has currently green-lighted two all-new models for production : it's own version of the new Nissan Patrol luxury SUV, the 2011 QX, and a fully-electric four-seat model that was announced by Nissan President and CEO, Carlos Ghosn, at last year's Tokyo Motor Show in October.
Then again it may be a different model altogether, one we have never heard of before from Infiniti officials. Unless the Japanese firm teases us with some new information and / or a picture, we'll have to wait until the Geneva Show opening on March 2 to find out.

I think it might be a 1 Series / A3 fighter. I know they said the 1 Series fighter was dead but I don't see what else it could be. I don't think it'll be the all electric car they annouced; it seems too soon for that.
Edit: Not to mention, an EV isn't really going to thrill the Euro crowd. Wrong market.

lol...well just think of vehicles that will be arriving that will be appealing to the global market. Infiniti is picking up steam fairly quickly and taking advantage of the Toyota/Lexus falling
I think this news might be misleading. I think it will be the global debut of the new M.
I hope I am wrong, but I think it is just going to be the new M for Europe.
Here is what they are working on:
So how many cars are you working on at the moment? Give us some idea of the scale of work underway on future Infiniti's.
"At Infiniti we don’t have too many models on the go. One is almost finished, and we have two projects already finished waiting to come on the market – the M and one other. Then we have two other projects. Or maybe two plus one! But you know how it is in the car industry – you have three concepts, but they won’t all be produced in reality. Business-wise, it’s not feasible at the moment to launch everything all at once. But we normally have around three projects underway at one time."
The M and QX are already finished. And then there is another one that is probably finished (EV) also (7 months ago). Then they have 2 1/2 other products. I know one of them has to be the next generation G, but what is the other 1 and 1/2?
1. M - Finished
2. QX - Finished
3. EV - Almost finished
4. G - Working on

From my count, there are two mystery vehicles being worked on.

'It will be a compact four-seater and will definitely not be a niche car. We will be looking for quick market penetration with this model.'
The article says that the car will be available with diesel, gas, and electric motors. That's what they probably mean by it not being a nche vehilce; most people will buy the gas/diesel powered ones. The electrically powered one will represent a smaller proportion of the sales.
