Regarding the Omega shock sensor for those of us with no hood pin - can you tell me what model/part number it is? Is there a website what I can download wiring and tech details on that sensor to get an idea of what is involved in hooking it up?

I will see if I can find some instructions. We just installed a few of these on the trunk trigger with success. You may not need to order the Omega afterall. I will have SFLG35 chime in.....

My sensor arrived yesterday for my 04 coupe. You have posted instructions for installing this item in three different areas.

1. Under the hood
2. Trunk
3. Under driver dashboard

Dashboard to much current?
Under Hood, to much heat, may cause less life?
Trunk best place if you have an alarm wire there?

Are these assumptions correct?

Ok. Let me try to explain the install.

Most installers prefer using the hood pin switch, however, the heat generated in the engine bay isn't goof for the life of the sensor. So, we decided its best to install it in the dash somewhere. At that location, you can tap into the door or trunk trigger wires. Now, on some of the 03s, the door trigger drew too much current and could burn the sensor. So, we have installed these sensors using the trunk switch which is located by the dash.

Since you have an 04....the door trigger doesnt take as much current and could be installed there (I have an 05 and its on the door trigger as well).

But since most people didn't know what to do, we just installed them on the trunk trigger.

 

Okay, so this wire is in the electrical box next to the foot pedal rest close to the floor board area, thats why you removed the foot rest.

 

i recommend using the trunk pin wire and not hte door pin wire just in case
