No I didn't take one. I was going to wait until the meet so you can sell it to someone else in the meantime. I'm not in a big rush. I can wait for the next batch to come in.

Ok guys. Some people have PM'd me concerning an interest for a tilt sensor to compliment the shock sensor. So....before we ship out any units, we want to let everyone know of the other types of alarm add ons available.

Here is the price breakdown:

DEI Shock Sensor add-on: $21, shipped
DEI Tilt Sensor add-on: $42, shipped
Resonance Sensor add-on: $44, shipped

If you buy more than one unit, we will discount $4 off the total price to compensate for shipping.

I will PM everyone who was intersted (and who already paid the $21) just to see if they want the titl/resonance sensor as well. Please let me know if you don't want any additional add-ons as we'll start sending just the shock sensors out tomorrow. If I don't hear back from you....then just what you paid for will be shipped out on Wednesday.

Thanks

Probably a dumb question, but what does DEI Tilt Sensor and Resonance Sensor do? What's the functionality?

Not dumb at all.

The Shock Sensor obviously detects shocks to the car itself
The Tilt Sensor detects if your car is being titled or jacked up
The Resonance Sensor is something you can attach to the back of your headlights or door handles and uses tiny microphone sensors to set it off.

Hope that makes sense.

My question would be how sensitive is the shock sensor?

I would think that someone stealing your headlights or wheels would be in a hurry and bump your car while jacking it up... or that just the act of jacking the car up would set off the shock sensor.

I guess this is not true, otherwise they wouldn't make two different sensors.

I'm assuming the tilt sensor is a second sensor and not incorporated into the shock sensor... right?

the two sensors are both from DEI and are made to compliment each other. As for sensativity...Dan can chime in b/c he installed it on my car but he still has my car...

the sensitivity is pretty good with teh shock sensor. but its probably not ogin to go off with just a bump. if you hit the winodw are the car with a solid thump it will go off. if you jack the car the shock prolly wont go off unless you are in a big hurry and mess something up. the shock probably wont see it the car being tilted because it is a relatively slow motion.

i have never tried this though before so i cant give you a definate answer

this is what i have found mounting them in two different locations
under hood:
seemed to be a little more sensitive
broke after about a year due to the heat and the excess bouncing around

on steering wheel column:
little less sensitive
lasts longer due to the greatly less amount of heat. also less bouncing around

Okay ladies. I want a Tilt sensor as well, but only if Dan can be my install monkey. I'll buy you some drinks after "we" install them both.
