There are only two (2) wires to the clutch interlock switch. When the pedal is pressed down, the switch closes and 12V+ is sent to the BCM. This control signal then initiates the engine start.

The key to this issue is that the engine ran, briefly before "it sputtered" and OP turned it off. There is something else going on with this car and I am not 100% convinced it is the engine start sequence.

Did you try jumping the STARTER to see if the starter works and the engine turns over? If the starter works/ engine turns over, then you look at relays and wiring.

Did you check for any water in/ near/ around the BCM area?

That's what I figured, that the switch, while controling the ignition is not really part of the ignition at all. The closed contact is, but only as a signal. Worst case scenario, it could be tested for 12v.

Jumping the starter is the easiest cheapest thing that can be done right now. Never changed it on this vehicle, how difficult is a starter swap.

Before going that route I would jump the "S" terminal at the starter and see if the engine turns over. OR, at the very least, see if the engine can be turned over BY HAND (CRANKSHAFT/ CRANK PULLEY CLOCKWISE).

Hey guys, its been a minute but heres another update:
I was about to jump the starter but decided to try starting again normally, and it worked! I had the intake off, so idle was rough, but I disconnected battery to reset ECU and install the intake. I started it again, and it worked fine. Smooth idle, releasing clutch didnt cause problems, no leaks, seems like everything works. Im gonna top off coolant and try going for a drive later. I still have no idea why it wouldnt start. Loose connection? Bad ignition switch? Im still not sure. Once again, thanks for all the help
