98 percent complete

I've had as few pictures floating around here of my G37s.... I had the "Dreaded" galley gasket blow on me. Instead of paying the 4,500 dollars to fix it I decided to buy a jeep and let it sit in my driveway lol....

After a year and a half of enjoying that Jeep life I thought it was time to get her back on the road. So I began the tear down. I took off the front bumper.. I took off the headlights, took off the radiator etc etc etc.... Took the timing cover off of the vehicle. and I was finally in the guts of the engine. I was pleasantly surprised to see that I did indeed have some blown out galley gaskets. So I replaced them with the better ones from z1 with the better screws and torqued them all down to spec.

I remembered that before I stopped driving my G that my clutch was slipping. So while the front end was off the car I decided to pull the whole motor and trans out so it would be easier to get to the clutch.

So I did

Changed the clutch with a nice stage 3 (has some chatter but great engagement)... pushed that engine back in there and bolted it down. To get to the driveshaft to pull the engine I had to take the exhaust off. While the exhaust was Off I figured might as well get some headers, test pipes, y pipe etc.... so I did.. and bolted it in ..

today I put my last bolt it and everything is put back together. I put oil in. I put some antifreeze in (water wetter) (I know its not antifreeze)... I pulled the fuel pump fuse in the fuel box and pulled the cam sensors and primed the oil.... after the oil was primed I put the fuse back in and plugged the cams in... and I tried to start the motor...

I was surprised but it "did" start.. and it ran... which was nice lol.... I had some dash codes (10 of them) and here they are..

CONFIRMED TROUBLE CODE
po335 (engine speed sensor signal) - fix: replace engine crankshaft position sensor (i'll just check mine to see if I forgot to plug it in or not)

4 body control module codes
B2014 replace electronic steering column lock unit w/b2607, b2609, b2612 (I don't know what this is.. but i'll admit I haven't researched it yet lol)

B2562 Perform tire pressure monitor (tpm) relearn procedure w/c1705, c1706, c1707

B2607 replace electronic steering column lock unit w/b2609, b2612

(frequently reported fixes...reset body control module, replace steering lock, replace totally integrated power module) -idk wtf any of this is.

B2612 Replace electronic steering column lock unit with b2607 , b2609 - more mumbo jumbo I know nothing about.. but hopefully will by the end of my shift.

IPDM E/R CODE

B2109 it just says "steering lock relay off. no sub type information. (maybe something I forgot to plug in? any help on this would be much appreciated)

ANTILOCK BRAKE SYSTEM CODES

C1130 replace Mass air flow sensor w/p010b, p0172, p0725 (i'll try cleaning mine) (another says replace engine air filter)

C1109 (BATTERY VOLTAGE ABNORMAL) okay this one threw me for a loop.. any info on this would be nice lol.

well.. hopefully by the end of the day i'll know what I need to do and I'll do it tomorrow. I have 11 more hours at work.. hopefully I can watch some videos or something and figure these out little by little... hoping 1 has a lot to do with the other stuff.

Seems like you have all the codes written down.
I would start by deleting them and seeing what codes pop off then and go from there. I did major work on my car and decided to roll the windows down after disconnecting several sensors .I reconnected my battery to roll them down then disconnected the battery.when it was time to start the car the computer picked up the disconnect sensors even though the car was not started. I cleared then and it was good to go. Hope hat helps

based on the research I've been doing tonight its looking as if its going to be my crank positioning sensor.. im hoping I forgot to plug it in when I did the clutch.. a simple plug in and done would be amazing.. then I can start bouncing the bad boy off that rev limiter.

This thing was an absolute bitch to get off. Heat gun won be enough... I had to use a torch and a big *** breaker bar.

I had finally gotten it off

Front of engine with some accessories gone

Drop the oil pan because there are 2 screws on the bottom that are holding the timing cover

Timing this thing out took hours!!!!! MAKE SURE TOU TAKE OUT THE SPARK PLUGS!!!!!! Makes this so much easier because with them in there is too much compression ... it’s like a freaking workout... I did it without spark plugs for 2 hours... with the spark plugs out it was literally 10-15 minute... probably woulda took me 30 minutes in all

Where the 2 acres bolt in

Getting ready to pull the motor

Everything is out

Stage 3 clutch in

Headers

They’re on

Got the engine back in

My ex told me it looked like it was involved in and accident

When I put it in I jacked up the back of the trans and put the tower in then I bolted everything in

Put the tower with the fans in

Radiator in

Front brace and headlights in

Put the intake manifold back on (spark plugs and coils went in first)

Intakes back in (gonna get the cold air intakes soon ) mine will be for sale (for cheap)

Next up is headlight restoration

My red s isn’t so red anymore
