The chip is actually very small, it looks big in the pic because it's so shiny...sp?
It's not even 1mm deep and is almost a full inch away from the nearest contact area. Joe at Zspeed is who I spoke with, and is one of the most respected and considered one of the most knowledgable people on the370z forum... What he said made sense to me. The shop I'm getting it done at are known for being perfectionists and are hard to get an appointment with.... While it's not a big deal compared to diff failure, I don't want to wait another month to get these installed. I trust Joe's advice, and if anything goes wrong I have it all documented, and Joe is a stand up guy who will help me out. I also believe if it's a big deal, the shop (who's done 100s of gear swaps) will say something about it.

 

Also, thanks for the advice everyone, and I hope I dont regret my choice. If I do, don't hesitate to tell me I told you so.

 

I'm sure you'll be fine. I'm just ocd about things being as close to perfect as I can get when I build something, that's the only reason I would exchange them. Good luck, and I hope no one gets to say I told you so.
