Transmission Swap?

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone has done a transmission Swap on the Gs. I have a G37x coupe and wished Infiniti made the AWD in a manual. I was wondering if anyone has every done an auto to manual swap or know if it's possible with this car. Also estimated cost? It would be pretty sweet to be one of the only AWD coupes in a manual. Thanks!

I heard it cannot be done, due to clearance issues.

With enough time and money you could do anything. There's usually reasons that nobody else has ever done it though.

With the right amount of money and skill, everything is possible.

Here's a little inspiration:

Even if it could be done, the cost and other problems you’ll encounter would be astronomical. If you’re that set on it, just sell the car and buy another with the transmission you desire.

I really want to sell my car and trade it in for a 6mt, but this is my daily and I live in new England so I need the AWD sadly lol. I know rwd will still be fine, but better be safe than sorry. I can only hope the new q60 will come in a 6mt AWD

MT's are slowly getting phased out, get one now before it's too late.

Dennis, a rwd car will do just fine in the winter with good winter/snow tires. It's a pain to swap out 2x a year but well worth the gains in traction.

@g37Sam, I know and it sucks. Hoping the new q60 redesign will come in a AWD 6mt, but sadly that looks impossible. I would love trade for a 6mt and buy a cheap winter beater in the coming years.

@jsolo I know it's doable, but this last winter was absolutely brutal. Probably would have been borderline impossible with rwd, regardless of tires. I'll probably end up either doing what I said in this post, or get a motorcycle because that's also on my list of wants Haha.

I wouldn't mind an automatic, if you had a very responsive dsg type system with paddles. The cvt transmissions just aren't for sports cars

Yeah but sadly the g37 isn't dsg /DCT. It's not terrible, but not the best either. Plus a manual is just more engaging.
