GTM Valvebody Upgrade

Well I have a 7at and want to do the upgrade since I have a FI motor.

The questions are is it worth it, and are there any deals for pricing since we are on this amazing site?

It was unfortunate for me as I went to my transmission shop and they started an install of a shift kit, not knowing that my car was a 7at and not a 5at... because of that, my car has been sitting on their hoist for 2 days already. So a quick solution to this problem would be nice to know. haha!

I might have to pay for overnight shipping.. sigh.. like Im not broke enough already.

I believe they require a core. I doubt they have any valve bodies in stock to send you but it never hurts to call and ask.

How far did the transmission shop get before they figured out they didn't know what they were doing?

I hear with the 7AT you'll need to get that thing rebuilt.

Ya the shop had everything already apart when they figured it out... Then when they started putting parts in they found out that it wasn't going to work lol.

Anyways I just sent the valve body to GTM in express shipping. So it will be there Monday morning at 1030 or earlier. Then I called up and spoke to someone there and they said they will have it shipped out by end of day.

Hope to get it back before Tuesday afternoon so they can put my car back together and I can drive it home!

As long as it does not get stuck at the boarder "crosses fingers" it should be all good.

The main reason of getting this done is the FI G I have, and the slow gear change from 5th to 4th.

Plus on the 22nd its going to the drag strip so I will let everyone know what kind of numbers it pulls out!

Anyways Wish me Luck!

You transmission is slipping because of a deterioration of your wet clutch package, the wet clutch has to be replaced.

If you are trying to prevent an event such as, Transmission Slippage, then investing in GTM VB upgrade is wise to incorporate as a preventive measure before having slippage.

You will love the upgrade. Instead of the transmission controlling you, you control the transmission, firmer and faster shifts up and down and better downshift rev matching. No lag what so ever.

Timp, you have it done? Are you in Vancouver? Do you know Sena? and have you been to any of the local meets?

No I haven't been to any of the meets, kind of new to the Infiniti scene.

Check out this link, my impression on the VB upgrade.

So did you end up going for the sc kit? I have mine done, which is the main reason for the upgrade.

Unfortunately some bad news. My package arrived with my vb broken at gtm... So I had no choice but to purchase a new one. Hope they get it all done by end of day today and ship it out. I need my car back together before end of day Wednesday.

On a side note. Timp go ahead and pm a guy named "Sena" on this site. He will hook you up with all the local events happening with the g group locally. Or just pm me and I will pass you his number to get a hold of him or pm me your number and I will pass it to him. The group is pretty decent size out here. In fact there are meets every month or more.
