2013 G Coupe 1200 miles Service Engine Soon light
This is just aggravating a brand new car and I have to bring it back to the dealer. I triple checked the gas cap and it is not that. this really puts a damper on my new car enthusiasm and this is my first Infiniti coming from BMW. Has anyone else had this happen on such a new car?
Sorry to hear that man. It could be something very simple. Do you notice anything different or wrong? The dealer will be able to pull a code for you and let you know exactly what the issue is, if any. I wouldn't let a SES kill your new car buzz.
Nothing wrong it still drives great. Don't get me wrong I LOVE the car. I am coming from a 5 series and this thing is a blast to drive. It is just disappointing. I hope this is not indicative of future issues.

This "glitch" should not deter you. It is a great car and a gas to drive. Just go out and have fun. I have 23k on my 2011 XS and no major problems, unless you count the navi screen going blank on rare occasion, but that's another story.
Thanks for the replies. I will not let this deter me I hope it is just a minor glitch and does not reoccur. If this happens over and over again I will not be so forgiving. Like I said I freaking LOVE driving this car, never had more fun with a car so that makes it easier to forgive. Anyway I just dropped it off at the dealer so we will see.

I had a 2008, the second day had a CEL, Low Tire and ABS light come on. Had it towed back, apparently a sensor fix here and there and it was smooth sailing from then on forth.
Went into a 2012 S4, on the drive home, CEL. Now in a 2012 G37xS sedan, nothing yet.
Things happen, relax, you got a beautiful machine. Heck, if you dont like it, lets switch, my fiancee would love to take your car lol

Ok just got off the phone with the dealer. I don't have the code number yet she said she would get me that when I picked it up but here goes. She said the transmission temperature sensor was being tripped but not at the transmission on the "engine side" whatever the hell that means. why would the engine have a transmission temp sensor? Despite what the sensor was saying she said everything was actually perfect and it was a software error causing the warning. She said this is the first G they have seen this on but several Ms have had it. They say there is no fix for it now and they are waiting for Infiniti to release a fix that they say will be as a recall. For now I just have to deal with it and they said the light will probably come back on.GREAT!
Oh an I got a G sedan as a loaner. It is amazing how huge this thing feels now that I am used to driving the coupe! I had a 535 for years and never thought it was that big and now one month with the G coupe and the G sedan feels like a boat!.
It sounds like the same issue the OP had in the other thread that I linked. Sorry to hear there is no immediate fix for you. Can you ask them if 6MTs are susceptible to this issue the next time you speak with them? And is this a 2013 issue, or are previous model years also at risk? Thanks.
that's interesting...I wonder if infiniti changed vendors for their supplies? I ask only because...in all honesty, my 2013 isn't exactly up to par. parts don't fit well, and I've noticed the leather is a bit skewed in the back. figured it was easier to just let be then have fixed. good luck with your issue. if there's anything I've learned from my recent lemon law (2010 G37 6mt sedan), is that Nissan/Infiniti WILL take care of you.
