Sorry to hear about your issue. I would have thought as a previous BMW owner you'd be used to CEL. When I had one I always wondered what the code of the day was going to be.

Hope you get a solution soon. I would be concerned about a constant CEL that a real issue could pop up and unless the car misbehaves you wouldn't know.
