New tranny, new problems..

Hey all,

Had my tranny swapped out under warranty a month ago due to grinding in 2nd and 3rd gear and now my car is maxing out 3000 rpm in 2nd, 3rd and 4th. When accelerating it seems as if power is cut and the car will basically not rev any higher then 3 and will lose all momentum.
I have an 09 S 6mt.

Any thoughts?
Calling tomorrow morning for an appointment at infiniti, dont really know what else to do.

All G's have a safety feature that limits the engine rpms to protect it from over heating. For whatever reason, you vehicle is in this mode. It could be a coinendence, or because of the new trans. Definitely take back to dealer, especially before your warranty expires.

+1

If you're still under warranty, throw the car at the dealer and let them deal with it!

Keep us posted with the dealer's findings. Hope it's a quick fix.

I know how you feel about not being able to drive it, mine was in the garage for a week while parts were in the mail to get it fixed...such a shame seeing my car just parked there...

Well here we go with what happened!!
Take a seat, might take a while to read lol.

So basically, after i received my new tranny about 5 days into driving the car, it started to max. out at 3000RPM. Couldn't understand wtf was going on until i popped my hood, checked my oil & the engine was bone dry!! I could not believe the dealership did not even think to replenish the oil after swapping out the tranny!!
Went through all kinds of bull**** after, the guys at the dealership couldn't believe what had happened/the extent of damage but luckily thanks to the infiniti computer, it really saved some damaged that could further happened.

All in all, had some vital parts of the engine re-built and thanks to my warranty an account that they screwed up from the start, everything was covered!!
Could not believe what happened and hated not being able to drive for a month but i could not ask for anything more than what my warranty did for me!!
