GTM Performance Engineering: VQ37VHR Twin Supercharger System
Sam,
Tracking back in time that was the first thing I did. As soon as I've encountered a problem you were the first to contact. Noted. We did this for how long? It was what going on a year. I've called when I was driving on the highway and the car just went into limp mode. Better yet, I've called your personal line and told you. I remember simply turning off the car and calling you about it again the following day.
Like I've stated I dropped the car off to you before I got out of the Marine Corps, and took off to Texas. It was few weeks later I took flight from LAX to DFW, but before my departure I've called. You said there was a turbo leak and you had some guy coming in to take a look at it, and it wasn't something I should worry about.
The going back and forth and things weren't adding up. I'm not disagreeing. Cause I had no clue what was going on except the stuff I was reporting after it occurring. Like I've stated to you over the phone how the car would just randomly shut off. NOT ONLY ON THE HIGHWAY DRIVING, but also simply backing out of the drive way, OR turning the car on then turning right off.
Another thing, you never said anything about the battery being corroded or mentioning any grounding issues.
As soon as the car came to me these were the problems included, and I mentioned few times of me sending the car back to you. Cause my perception was that your the G37 shop, and why would I go to a shop in Dallas that doesn't specialize in this? Call me retarded but common sense was telling me, "go to GTM they build your kit, why not have them fix it."
But you were right about taking it to a shop in Dallas. Was I hesitant? **** yeah I was.
The reason why it's your first time hearing about it is because I just got tired of nothing being completed. So I did what I thought would be best. Go around different shops, and get not only one or two opinions but a handful.
I even called you after going to JOTECH. And you laughed out loud after I told you what Kenny recommended. So why in God's good green earth would I lie about something like this?
It's almost like picking a doctor. If one doc says you have this, but don't have confidence you go to another. Exactly what I did. Am I wrong? I don't think I am.
I have been telling you the problems that the car had for awhile. I told them the exact same story when I arrived at UpRev. Told them what I'm telling you. This is what the car does, etc. etc.
Trust me if I were bashing I wouldn't do it online. That's not the ****ing ethics I've learned while being in the Corps. I would just come knocking on your front door, and say hello.
Why would I lie about the wonderful discoveries on my GTM adventures? This is more adventurous then the tours to Afghanistan and Iraq combined.
Going to the part where you mention my receipt. Let us review that.
After telling them my history about the car, and everything to it they recommended all these "exams". I wasn't even leaning on leaks till Uprev mentioned it. It was never an electrical problem nor a battery problem. They have not once mentioned any grounding, electrical, nor battery issues. So going back in time you also mentioned while working on my car you worked on another. You sure you didn't get the two mixed up? After all we are human, and humans do make mistakes.
So the test were performed, as viewed on the receipt. I told you in the past I wasn't driving the G37, due to these problems of the car just shutting off.
For the new injectors, they said the injectors you put in my car was at 95% duty cycle, and they highly recommended to upgrade. Hence I did. I mean reflect on the date of when I did all this. I got out of the Corps back in 2010. This was completed in 2012.
Remember I've stated this to you very clearly. Whenever I had a problem I go to you, but damn man, you always had this belittling attitude when I spoke with you.
Why don't you post up the other receipt when I bought the gauges and the boost controller from you. Do the time elapsed estimation. There's a huge gap isn't there.
But anyway since you like showing people what's up. This is from my mind ****ed experience.
This is your tune.

I relay what I see. And describe what I see and get.
As I've stated that **** was rubbing all over the place. One of the guy's at Uprev added stuff to protect **** from rubbing. Hence where I got rubbing all over the place. Why that wasn't added in the bill, damn beats the **** out of me. I guess a nice, "I'll help a combat veteran out. Why the **** not?" Maybe? Who knows? **** me right?
This is one of the things I've found.

Remember you said you don't want to spend forever with this problem, I didn't want to either. I wouldn't purposely go into the car and **** **** up on purpose for the sake of forum publicity. If I did I will personally let you know about it, and how the outcome of the situation goes.
I understand your doing what anyone normally would do. Protect your business or your reputation. If your going to call me out, as a liar, cheat, or whatever the **** you want to label it.
I don't lie, cheat, or steal. But take it how you want. I've been completely honest with you about everything.
Respectfully,
Jay

Jay,
Please refrain from posting or linking to something like the threatening quote that you posted a link to. It was way over the line. I have removed that part of your post and left the rest. Don't go there again. Being a marine doesn't give you any leeway to threaten people on this forum.

You don't issue warnings around here. That's the staff's job. This isn't the appropriate place. Your account of your experience is perfectly fine, nothing wrong with either side presenting their version of events. Don't threaten anyone. Ever. Don't cross any lines. That's the only reason that threads like these get closed or edited or deleted. Pot stirring from uninvolved parties and legitimate parties involved in a disagreement who don't have the tools to present logical, factual accounts of things without taking it to places it needn't go. Lets agree to not go there anymore and have more intelligent discourse.

Sam,
I am not going to go on and on for pages with you. I do apologize for getting the date of receipt wrong for my car, and should have checked. You are correct that the car was delivered in early April and not early March. I also went back and forth on what kit I wanted BEFORE I shipped my car to you. You contacted me in the beginning of April to ask me what my "wish list" for the car was and didn't contact me again until the end of May when you sent me a $30,000 invoice (attached). However, please explain these questions:
1. Why would I send you a car in April to sit there before you even sent me an invoice for labor or the additional cost of the kit (that you didn't disclose till May 23rd) ? The answer is: I was led to believe that the installation was free and the car was being worked on and the kit was ready by the time the car was there.
2. Why did you tell me the car would be done on June 7th (see attached PDF)? This is in line with you telling me the car would be done at the end of April when it was first shipped out.
3. If you are in the right, why did you refund $5,000 to me? Surely you could have found another person willing to jump on this.
4. In what state is it legal to waive sales tax? Can you show proof that you paid sales tax on this order?
5. Why would I have wanted a twin supercharger if other options provided more power for less cost and risk?
6. If you didn't express cash-flow issues why did you ask me if you could process my initial refund of $5000 several days in the future of the agreement for refund that we made?
7. Why am I at the mercy of your uninstall to get a refund now? You have the car and the parts correct? Can I drive the car?
8. Why wasn't the car ready on Sept. 7th with either the twin SC or twin turbo per the terms YOU agreed to? The reason I didn't have plans to be there was because I had intel that the car was not close to being ready.
9. Do you know what the daily loss-of-use rate is in CA?
10. Do you know what extortion really is?
11. Since June 7th, what contacts have you made with me to update me?
12. How could you have done any work to the car by June 7th when the kit wasn't ready until months later?
13. Why was my quote so much higher than the price you quoted on FB?
I have had work done on cars and custom bikes built before - sometimes taking over a year. I know that projects often run late. However, I have never been outright lied to, ripped off, jerked around, and neglected in this manner. This whole situation could have been smooth and enjoyable with clear communication, honesty, and correctly set expectations. Now it is a complete mess.
All - I am not trying to "extort" money or anything else from Sam. I had loss of use of my daily driver due to deception, miscommunication, and project mismanagement. The daily loss-of-use rate in CA is $50 per day. I requested $6,000 which was less than what I am entitled to. I have been paying for the car, as well as insuring it while it was there. I was in a rental car for 2 months while I waited for this car to be done based on the timeline that was set forth by Sam. I cancelled the project because the terms of our agreement had been breeched and a complete lack of faith that it would ever get done and/or work well. I have had a slew of PMs coming my way as well as chance encounters telling me of their terrible experiences with GTM.

3. To expose, or to impute to him or them any deformity, disgrace
or crime; or,
4. To expose any secret affecting him or them.

Well hell I'm here to learn about GTM FI and Stroking kits AS THE TITLE SAYS not legal actions and dramatic BS that should be handled elsewhere.
No offense to either of you two but a thread named "GTM Performance Engineering: VQ37VHR Twin Supercharger System" shouldn't contain 2 pages of legal argument.
Guess I will forget about asking questions.

What is extortion you ask? How about this answer from the California Penal Code:
Pretty cut and dry if you ask me...that's exactly what you did, and yes, it is a crime. So, you said that if we don't give you $6k, you would charge us with criminal wrongdoing. That my friend is extortion. According to the California Penal Code, you broke the law and once we get confirmation from our attorney, we reserve the right to press charges. Bear in mind that we have more evidence to further incriminate you, but we'll leave that for court.

Spawn, seriously, stop posting in here. For starters, you should have posted this all in the vendor feedback section to begin with. Now you have caused this thread to be cluttered with your trash. Secondly, you should just stop posting about this for the pure fact you did in fact try to extort money, take a law class and you'll easily see you did. I understand you are mad, but from the emails you sent to GTM you sound like a very unreasonable person to begin with. And last, any person who goes forced induction is smart enough to own a second car as FI isn't the most reliable option for daily driving. And any person who has built a motor before knows it takes time. It is the exact reason why normal people own two cars when building cars to that extent.
BB, i seriously suggest you move this stuff to the vendor feedback section. He's doing nothing but digging himself a bigger hole.

2. I believe Sam owes me money for loss of use. I asked for that money before taking the matter to court, which I considered a courtesy to Sam. That is NOT extortion. Threatening someone with civil action is not extortion. The criminal portion of the email related to any potential intention to not give me my money back which I believe constitutes fraud.
3. I posted on here before, asked Z-Car, and Sam if I could FI my daily driver and was told that I could. I am glad that you are smarter than me, but I was led, by supposed experts, to believe that I could use it as a DD.
4. Taking time is fine - if that expectation is set by the shop. I was told it would be done by the end of April, then by June 7th, then by Sept. 7th, then the 14th....at some point enough is enough. The car sitting there collecting dust is unacceptable to me. If you choose to do so with your car that is your business, but I like to drive mine.
1. This thread is essentially about my car, so I have every right to post here, and other members have sent PMs applauding my posting(s). If the moderators want to move the postings that is their decision, but I have merely stated my perception of my experience for the benefit of others.
Can you say narcissist??

No,... but demanding an amount of money not established by both parties or a court of law followed by the threat of civil action is....
