I believe that there are a few who either run a stock exhaust or started out with the stock exhaust but I can't remember who they were. Seems like one member made some pretty good power with the stock exhaust.

I have a picture in my garage of the stock y-pipe - it's tiny. Putting on a true dual exhaust system opened up a ton more power.

Yea, absolutely. But the exact HP doesn't particularly matter... this is not a car to run at the drag strip or take on Mustangs. What you have instead with this is what a very healthy V-8 G37S would have been like if the factory offered it. With a motor that breathes *very* well, across the wide spectrum. With low-end torque, a fast run up to the redline (which it'd like to go right past). Off boost the car is mild, almost normal, and on boost it's an animal. And the chassis (with the addition of swaybars and wider rubber), is entirely suited to this much power.

You don't need or want the headers for this project. Beefing up the driveline is ok but not really needed - at least at first (by the time they would be needed, you will alreadfy have blown the week pistons and rods).
Instead, you should consider starting small with the basic system (along with the largest oil cooler you can fit, such as Nismo's new racing kit, along with an oil thermostat - and same for an auto trans if that is what you are using), tune to that, and then take it up a notch at a time after that. Even the stock exhaust, restrictive as it is, would be a better starting point as far as tuning is concerned. Going past the manufacturer's kit recommendations is best done with iterative tuning and small careful steps. Remember, too, that the internals of this engine are very weak... you are not going to be able to go too far without breaking (or failing emissions).

Internals are not weak on this motor. Much improved over the DE motors.
I'm stage 2 TT at 540/500 at 12 lbs for 7k miles n this baby pulls with no problems.

Sure, but for how long? And for what use? Road racing? That won't last. Cruising around with the occasional pull? That will last for a while.
Now take it up to 15 pounds and 91 octane and see what happens.

Your statement that these motors are weak is completely false. I don't road race just on the street and where I live we have 93 octane.
Research and you'll find more g37s and 370s with similar power. Way more than any SC can produce and running fine. No need to give out false information.
