Lag
Lag
Hey guys, I just bought myself a 2011 g37 coupe, I have around 330 miles on it is there a reason why my engine lags, or whenever I drive in sport/tip tronic switching gears lags, is it because my engine hasnt broken in yet or what? What do you guys think is this with all G's?
There is a couple of Technical Support Bullitin's out for lags/harsh 7AT transmissions:
ITB10-075 is for various issues including harsh 2-1 downshifts
ITB09-032b which has to do with 4-3 downshifts
You can find them here: Infiniti G37 Technical Support Bullitins

Um, no offense but a grounding kit isn't going to do jack for something that is a problem with the transmission control program. I suspect that why most people think grounding kits help is that it takes long enough for them to install the kit that learned driving profile gets erased, same as doing it via the pedal method. There are a few things that a grounding kit might help, the primary one being alternator whine in an aftermarket audio system. But a grounding kit is not going to fix a lagging transmission or give you a horsepower boost.

my uncle came out of a 08 g37s 6mt and went to a 2011 g37x vert. when i tell you he is upset with the auto trans compared to the manual, its an understatement. he has been back to the dealer a few times b/c of this "lag", their last resort was to swap out the computer. probably will be the same as when he brought it it, he's just hoping that he had an extra troublesome tranny. good luck to those with this problem!
I've put 10,000 miles, over the last year, on my 2010 sedan and have experienced no lag, but I have read a lot of posts on the forums complaining about it.
I put most of the miles on at highway speeds and have done a lot of high speed passing on 2 lanes.
If I had experienced any type lag and the dealer couldn't resolve it, I would have got rid of the car immediately.

Im asking b.c i broke my car in fairly nicely, and was wondering if i could just erase the LDP by just disconnecting the battery for while so i can drive hard from the get-go when it starts to learn my driving.

MIght be a noob question here, but when you talk about the install erasing the learned driving profile is that simply b.c the battery is disconnected for an extended period of time
