2-clutch transmission in the future?

I was looking at the M35h site and I noticed that it has a 2-clutch system. I really hope Infiniti adapts the 2-clutch technology, I used to have it in a GTI and it was amazing. A double clutch would fix the slow downshift we're having with the current 7-speed.

Performance: 3.5-L V6 HYBRID
AN UNCOMPROMISED V6 HYBRID
THAT DELIVERS V8 POWER.
Crafted patiently to deliver signature Infiniti performance,
the Infiniti Direct Response Hybrid™ system features a 1-motor,
2-clutch parallel hybrid powertrain with a 7-speed automatic transmission.
Precise, high-speed motor control technology lets you experience all 360
horsepower[*], allowing you to take your Infiniti M® Hybrid from 0 to 60
mph in less than 6 seconds.

The 2-clutch system is for the hybrid powertrain, not the regular VQ's...

I know, just wondering if it's the first step for Infiniti to develop a 2-clutch transmission.

No, the M35h 2 clutch transmission is not related to a DSG type system in anyway. It's just a regular Infiniti 7 speed that has had the torque converter replaced with a electric motor/clutch conbination unit. The second clutch is a wet clutch at the back of the transmission connecting it to the driveshaft.

The first clutch is used to engage and disengage the engine from the drivetrain to reduce friction from the engine when the car is running under electric power only. The second clutch is there to dampen the vibrations to the drivetrain from the gas engine engaging and disengaging.

Nissan already has a dual-clutch transmission, its the Borg-Warner DCT in the GT-R .

IMO, It would take too much RDI to create an entirely new frame design for the Borg-Warner setup to fit into the FM platform, when the 7AT from Jatco works "just fine"

The VW DSG is pretty amazing. I'm sure that future generations will have a DCT or non-torque converter automatic option, I'm just not sure how much in the future. Infiniti has to keep the price of the G37 a good deal lower than comparable german cars to be competitive and most people don't really care about a DSG. This is especially true with the improved performance of newer locking torque converters.
