G37 7speed transmission reprogram
CodeG, you downshift immediately how? in Manual mode with the Auto Tranny? How long did you drive it for the car to "Relearn" ?
You know What: I am getting pretty sick and tired of this " Adaptive" Learning Crap....Why can't the car just perform at its peak as a Persopnal Sports Sedan all of the Time?? I'd also like to know why NONE of the auto magazines and Consumers Reports ever mention this jerkiness/hesitation in the test drives?

Update - I have given up on trying to get Infiniti to do anything about this problem. It's costing me too much of my personal time having to go back/forth to the dealership to show yet another person the problem. Some days are fine and some days it pisses me off but in the end, I can live with it. I just won't be buying another one when my lease is up.

I have experienced lag problem too, and driving more aggressively (I found stabbing the throttle, and manually down shift will teach the trans) even in D mode will make the car change its shifting behavior. Engine performance variation also affects how the trans shift too.
I tried DS and it is quite aggressive, so I left it in D to save gas.
For me DS is for mountain run and when I am in a hurry.
Nissan will also be addressing some of the most frequent customer complaints, like poor shift quality from its new seven-speed automatic transmissions used in Infiniti products. Nissan tells AN that it is already upgrading the software in the transmissions.

I also know that I complained about the 7AT on their survey(s), made sure to include something about how the "should I go or not" lag possibly being a safety issue if the car doesnt move for a second or two while in the middle of a turn.
Interesting article. I've got the latest transmission flash and it was great for the first few days until the system started its learning process again. Now I am almost guaranteed to get the overreving between certain gears almost every time I drive the car vs. every once in a while with the last flash. The overreving or flare actually seems to happen to me at the same places on my commute....almost all of them where I have accelerated from a stop and was in the process of backing off the throttle slightly. If they could just give us the flash without the "learning/adapting", I'd be much more happy.

I sure hope they plan on releasing any updates to those of us who own cars older than 2012.

Guys: Post your complaints with Infiniti Consumers Affairs via their Web Site. Send your email as I did. They will respond and it will open a "claim" file. Describe the problem - lagging/ hesitation, jerkiness, poor harsh downshifts, etc...It was apparent to me after I met with the District Manager in July as a follow up to my complaint, that they don't like the forums and "blogging" as he described it.

I was so easy for them, in the past, to say to us 'no one else has the problem you describe so be on your way.'
Yes, they must hate that. Well too bad!
wow im so glad i found this post. I am only having problems when i am braking or downshifting on DS or manual. The car starts to rev really high when im braking and just lags when im stopping.
i got this done on my car today .. i'll get it back tomorrow after getting new rotors and pads as well due to early warping in another TSB.
i did make this notice while driving a loaner g37 that the 7at was much smoother then mine. it wasn't a 2011, 09-10, but the shifts were much smoother and actually felt like i could get 0-60 much quicker then in my model. if this is the reprogramming at work, well then it definitely should be done for those who haven't.

So I read like 10 pages of this thread and still can't get a clear picture of whether I should or should not get the TSB. I am experiencing the harsh downshifts and some lag, but I got a 2009 g37x coupe, which despite these issues, still drives way better than my 08 G35x sedan. I want to get the TSB done if it will improve things, but do not want to risk it making my drive less aggressive, etc. Thoughts?

Got my 09 reflashed and ECU reset in Vegas about a month ago, it's made the overall drive better. The clunky downshifts and hesitation are improved, still not perfect but I'd give the reflash a B. We drove a very spirited drive w/ a BMW 335 coupe on our way back from Vegas on a nice twisty road and were hitting speeds I've never gone before (for an extended drive) and the G was driving as responsive as it was preflash. So yes, I'd say pull the trigger on the reflash if I was in your shoes.
My dealer service advisor checked when I reported some of the TSB symptoms, and verified that the rev on my car matched the one from the TSB. But he also said that the fact that the VIN ranges in the TSB did not include my 2011 indicated that it came from the factory with the rev.
