Not sure if this is just how the car drives or if I need to break it in. I have about 600 miles on it.
It will get better when the car is fully broken in. But it will be still there though. Don't apply any updates until about a couple of thousand miles and you still don't like the way it drives.

JackM, re-progammed or not, the 7AT is problematic.....check the member post that provided the link to the article a page or two back. The article specifically cites the numerous complaints about Nissan's 7AT (yes, it is a Nissan tranny). Yesterday, while driving on a local suburban road at 35-40 mph, not fully warmed [but doesn't seem to matter anyway], stepped on the brakes to allow a car in front to make a turn, then stepped on the gas and what hesitation: count 1....2..... felt like the car stalled, then vrooom, it takes hold and takes off. I can't stand it. I've owned this car for 1 1/2 years now, had the Reflash done in February with great expectations, per the TSB posted on thread way way back, to no avail....She shifts abruptly, drives so differently with less responsiveness in DS and D modes than my 2007 G35X, and can vary in driveability on a different days. That's the Drive Adaptive Control according to Infiniti (check their web site). My previuos posts on this thread indicated that The District Manager who responded to my filed complaints acknowledged the problem, but quoted similar to the Service Manager from the dealership: It is driving the way it was designed.....there's nothing wrong with the Car....not the torque converter, not the Tranny. He said if was, the Tranny would be replaced immediately under warranty...

I am going to resurrect my complaint with Consumer Affairs and with Infiniti Financial (I lease it thru them), and see if I can Squeak Loud enough to get the Oil .....I want to trade it in, walk away without any further cost to me...and move on to another vehicle (BMW, Mercedes Benz, Acura TL, ???)

I was referring earlier to MEDGAR's 10/11 post with the article link about Nissan's low survey scores....The article alludes to a "fix" being addressed? I haven't seen or heard anything to date..The TSB providing the reflash certainly didn't do it.

So far, 12k miles mine has been very smooth and responsive. They did the update on mine about 2 weeks/500 miles ago and can't really tell any difference.

I know you have posted a lot on this, and I've seen your posts on edmunds also, has Infiniti replaced the transmission? If they confirmed the problem and can't fix it, maybe they should do that?

I don't have the problems you are describing, but I can empathize with the frustration.

My car was jerky the first few hundred miles, but then it settled in and drives without issue.

g37guy01: No Infiniti never acknowledged that the Tranny was not working properly. They told me that if it was that, the Tranny would be replaced immediately. (they replaced the auto tranny in my 07 G35X b/c of harsh ubrupt up shifts... all under warranty). I wish it was a Tranny problem ---- then it could be corrected.

Thx for the consolation..... Maybe in the 11s the problem has been resolved.

yeah I would say they're pretty much in denial regarding how frustrating the transmission is... I mean I've literally given them all your guy's complaints... and they're like durrr....

It ends up being a lose lose for both...

I mean ironically, given what I've seen from like GTM and stuff it looks like a simple upgrade to make the transmission better.... in all aspects... way better than spending money employing someone to "figure it out" through the software.

The hesitation is still present on the 11s. It might not be quite as bad as it is for you, and to be honest my 98 Maxima has the same problem. That being said, it's not terrible, and I've adapted to it for the most part. Driving in DS when I'm being more aggressive (mountain / canyon runs) almost completely eliminates the issue. I'm hoping it can be fixed through a software update and the hesitation improved / eliminated, but I guess we will see what happens. Either way I'd buy another Infiniti in a heart beat, just might be a manual tranny or wait until they get a true dual clutch setup.

There is nothing wrong, IMO, with the transmission. The problem is in the ECU/throttle response. I haven't experienced what Almatti's talking about, but then I haven't really pushed it through the twisties. But, my beef, as I've said before, is lag when coming out of a speed zone. The car is in 5th, or even 6th, at 30-35 mph (at 900 rpm! at 30 mph!) and I have to go nearly 3/4 on the accelerator before it will downshift, and then it's all white knuckle -- lotso gas, and she won't upshift again til 6k rpm or so. There's no middle ground.

Thanks to the paddle shifters, though, I left click, she drops into 4th, and things are okay. I still liked the ratios better on the G35x. And the shift points vis a vis accelerator depression.

Nissan, listen up: I don't always want to be in NASCAR mode, and I NEVER want to be in grandmaw mode. How about more choices?

This forum is great!
This is my first post after having my first G37. I had this issue out the door on my 2009 G. I tried the reset for about 5 days after purchasing the car and never could get the light to blink. Today it finally worked, I was so happy to see that fast blinking and now the tranny feels so much smoother on downshifts.
Crossing my fingers to the computer adapting to my driving.

I took my 2010 G37 Sedan in this weekend, listing many of the same complaints detailed in this thread, and they put on ITB10-075A (not sure if the A is a new variant or not) and for about 2 days the car drove so much better...but now it is back to being very jerky, hestitating when asking for power in the 3-5th gear range, etc...I am sure some of this is based on the way an individual drives but it really takes away from the car's rideability. Very frustrating.
