Does this apply to just the 10-11? I sometimes have harsh downshifts when slowing to a stop on my '12.

"D" is much better both in normal driving and in the mountains. In the mountains it downshifts much better than it did before and does not try to hang in the highest gear possible.
"DS" has been tamed a little, does not downshift as aggressively as before and does not hold the lower gear as long as it did before. It's OK, but I prefered the way it was before. Since I do not spend as much time playing in the mountains, I give the reprogramming a thumbs up, but just before the warranty goes away I will see if there has been another upgrade.

I just took my '09 GxS into the dealer yesterday for the steering wheel trim piece replacement and the transmission reprogram. They had me ride with a technician and literally it took him 30 yards from the dealership parking lot to recognize the issue and agree that a reprogram was in order. He spoke as if it was a very common issue and that he only needed to confirm it in order to move forward on the reprogram.

The good news- MUCH smoother!

Keep us informed after a few more miles. It should still re-learn I would assume. Some I think have said it reverted to old form.

Had our 09 RWD done over a year ago, still much better than pre-reflash, I'm sure some re-learning has ocurred but I'm so used to it by now so hard to say
I do know the low speed downshift is still much smoother and the prior hesitation is still gone

Over the weekend, I went to a different dealership to get this update from 075 to 027c, hopefully. After speaking to the Service Adviser, it was pretty clear that he didn't know much about the update or anything! but I listen to the dealer since I was already there.
He claims that he has the same model and car year but does not remember when or which update he applied, which leads me to believe he is lying POS. And of course, they told me that my update of 075 is the latest update even though the Service Bulletin dates back to 2010.

Anyways, this is what I pretty much understand about this whole updating issue from ITB10-075 to ITB12-027c.

The reason why I believe that the 075 update gotten me the latest ECM/TCM update was because when I did little research and check the current ROM version, given by the dealership, mine was already updated.

So only question I have left I guess is that the new 027c Service bulletin must be a procedural difference because my ROM for ECM/TCM that I got from 075 update are both showing the latest. Can anyone explain to be that this is true?

Do you experience the throttle response lag when coasting to around 20~25 MPH then trying to accelerate again? Mine did it every time, a lag of anywhere from a half to one full second.

If you do NOT have that symptom, then it would seem the 075 bulletin is adequate for your particular ECU part number, and then I wouldn't bother trying to get 027.

If you have that symptom, it needs the update to 027. The question then becomes how to get it.

One member on this forum said the dealer had to replace the ECU because their system refused to update it with 027 after it already had been updated with 075. I would pursue this remedy with the dealer ONLY IF your car has the above symptom.

Where is the love for us 2012 owners? These symptoms have obviously passed down to at least early 2012 models. This has been noted multiple times in this thread! Many of us loyal G owners have been hassled by the misinformed dealers. Something has got to give!

Thought I'd post this in the long transmission thread for more exposure for the 2012 owners:

I had this done on my 2012, I complained about the acceleration lag after turning and accelerating from about 25mph. The update was awesome the first 2 weeks, after that it's still better, but not as responsive as when they first did it. Below is a shot of the work order:

Ok guys I got my '11 37xS about two weeks ago. Noticed the occasional harsh downshifting and the coasting lag, but assumed it was normal ...until I found this forum. Went for my service appointment today and described the issues I was having. They performed the ECM and TCM updates. Shifting issues are all gone, car is much more responsive and the pickup from a stop has also improved significantly. Best part, all was covered under the factory warranty. Paid $0! Can never complain about that.

I have a 2009 G37X, bought it used about 10K miles ago, and immediately noticed this rough downshift.

Called infiniti today, scheduled an appointed to get the reflash/TSB updates on Monday. They told me there are about 20 different updates, and would take my car and diagnose to determine which update it needs.

I have personally noticed rough downshifts from 4 to 3, 3 to 2... Also, when going slow and lightly depressing the gas pedal, a slight vibration. Upshifts are smoother, but at times, rough as well.

My question is... Is there a specific update I should bring up to them, or will they be able to diagnose and perform the correct update?


Any thoughts/insight is much appreciated!

Just give them your VIN. They will run a check against it and it will tell them exactly which updates apply to your car

My dealer before doing the update said they no longer do it by them checking the VIN, but hooking up the car and having it call home to check for updates. Don't care how it was done, it sure is better after the update.

the new 075 apparently doesn't apply to mine. My ECM part number inst listed in the bulletin. Nobody, not even Infiniti customer service, can tell me why or if there will be additional updates to cover my ECM. I looked at the previous update and several ECM's covered that are also receiving 075. Does anyone have any idea why 075 only applies to certain ECM's?
