G37 7speed transmission reprogram

Do a google search for ITB12-027 and you'll turn up a PDF of the TSB at another forum. It contains an applicable ECM/TCM part number list. The TSB calls for the tech to write the current ECM or TCM part number on the work order prior to checking it against the applicability list. If the ticket you got doesn't have that part number on it, or you didn't get a ticket, I suggest asking the dealer for that part number (and then checking it against the list yourself). If they can't give you the part number, ask them to re-evaluate by following the diagnostic procedure in the TSB.

Not to be disagreeable, but 027 is definitely better and newer than 075. I've had both on my 11 coupe. 075 was not acceptable at all. 075 has unpredictable hesitation and lag and harsh downshifts even in regular "D" mode. All these issues are gone in 027. It's still not the best transmission, but at least I can live with it now.

Adding to previous advice, the protocol is such that you need to complain of the symptoms indicated in the TSB, NOT just ask for the TSB or whether it is applicable to your car. Then the dealer is obligated to do the procedures in the TSB, including putting the existing TCM or ECM part number on the service order. With that information in hand, you can verify from the TSB whether it applies to your car. If the dealer will not follow the procedure by putting the part number on the work order or by insisting that the TSB is not applicable even though there's a part number match with the TSB, call Infiniti Consumer Affairs.
My 2011 was shipped with the 075 firmware and had very lurching downshifts when braking or coasting to a stop. The ITB12-027 update cured that, and I"m very happy with it.

Alright Guys, I have been interested in the G37x sport sedan for a while, but this thread has me a bit scared off for a while.
Are the 2013 models affected by this as well? If so, I have an option for a sport which is not ideal in N.E. although i would prefer it.
Does anyone conclusively know if the 2012 and more importantly the 13's also have the issue or was it figured out?
I will be taking a 2013 for a day from the dealer, but with a brand new vehicle it may not manifest itself, but I want to see if it is livable for a lease or just go another direction.
If anyone knows regarding the 13's I would appreciate feedback.

I'll also call out that although the jarring downshifts were sometimes disconcerting, I've always been quite pleased with the car and don't have the whines expressed elsewhere about the lags and such. Through 2011, at least, this car was a terrific value for the money.
Given that the Q50 will cost more and offer no significant drive train advantages, I'm thinking of holding on to the 2011 past my usual 3 year cycle and throwing a turbo onto it.

Does anyone have a 13 or know about them?
Aside from that, the Maxima sportshift is pretty nice even though it's CVT. Shifts are instant, but at low rpm it moans get past that an it is smoothness. Not too bad. If only the G got that quick response. WTF infiniti.

My friend's 2013 G37x is the same...no hesitation/lag.
I do know what everyone is talking about, because I experienced this issue with a loaner when mine was in for oil change/service.
Not sure what year it was, but definitely was V36...most likely 2012.
My wife hated it and asked me if something was wrong and hoped that our G37 wouldn't end up like it.
I think it would be "safe" to say that this has been addressed in the 2013 G37x(S).

I Have Gravitated to a new 2013 M37X !!
Many thanks to all the members here with the information and experiences shared about the G. I have traded my 2010 G37X for a new 2013 M37X (I was reluctant since the cars share the same drive train), but the Pull Ahead program (waiving my last 3 lease payments), made the deal sweet.
It is only 2 days, but the new M is terrific - more responsive, roomier, smoother, and probably better suited to me. After all of the comparative shopping I did, I feel I made the best overall value choice. The M37X seems to offer the best product for luxury, ride, handling, for the Buck, IMO...
Good Luck...See ou on the Mspot maybe. I will post my driving results over time there.

I have a 2013 G37xS sedan and don't seem to have any of the issues of the previous years. The transmission shifts very smooth and don't have any lag.

I hope this is the case.. How many miles are on your's? I think some here started off ok, but with the learning it got worse, right?
Did you lease or purchase btw?
