How were u get the updates when u had previous update of 075. From what they told me - I have the ECM/TCM updated and there was no more update available for me since I got the 075 update. I'd never got that update if I new that the new update would not apply and yes I want to agree and say the newer is better. Please let me understand so I can tell that to the Infiniti dealers here in VA/MD

You have to describe these symptoms to them. If you have 075, then you should have these symptoms. IF you personally do not observe these problems, then of course, you probably shouldn't go through the trouble of getting an update.

1) You have hesitation after coasting to around 20-25 MPH and then trying to accelerate.

2) You have harsh downshifts when slowing to a stop or making a rolling stop.

If you can't make #1 happen driving by yourself, then I don't think you have a case to demand further action or updates. (just my opinion)

Ask to have a technician go for a ride with you, and demonstrate #1 to him. It is very easy to make #1 happen, over and over. The technicians know about this problem. The tech will usually note that he observed it.

If you do in fact have those symptoms:

Keep visiting them, and visit other dealers too. Just call to make an appointment to say the transmission is doing strange things and you would like it checked out. Hopefully you have a couple of dealers around. If their computer says it can't be done then they need to talk to Infiniti tech help to find the solution. Ask them to get on the phone with Infiniti tech line to find a solution. Also call the Infiniti customer support line and make sure they know about the problem. Keep calling them every so often to let them know the problem has not been addressed. Keep making service appointments for the problem, so you have a lot of paperwork with "customer states harsh downshifts and accelerator lag when slowing or coasting..." After a while you will have a nice pile of paper to bring with you every time. They'll get the message. The more this is documented with your calls, your appointments, and their calls to Infiniti, the sooner they will get "tired" of this and will do what's right. Make sure they know exactly who you are every time when you call, save names of people, save "case numbers", etc, etc, and have those ready to recite every time. Tell them that you just want the car to work right, it is unsafe when it hesitates, Infiniti knows about it, thousands of people on the forum know about it. Most important, be nice and tell them that you know this has been solved by Infiniti and that they just need to work with them to get their computer to update your car. Don't make it sound like you're blaming the people there. Everyone likes to blame the computer system. Persuade them to contact Infiniti to get their system to fix the car. This needs to be brought to the attention of Infiniti that some issue in the system is not allowing your dealer to fix your car. It took my dealer about a week to sort everything out on their end (and they contacted Infiniti too) before they were able to get my car updated.

What year is your car? Sedan/Coupe/vert/AWD/S?

Does this apply to 2nd owner? my g37 is 2011 with 20k on it. I just recently found the transmission hesitate to accelerate at 20-25mph.

Thanks,

It is only 2 days, but the new M is terrific - more responsive, roomier, smoother, and probably better suited to me. After all of the comparative shopping I did, I feel I made the best overall value choice. The M37X seems to offer the best product for luxury, ride, handling, for the Buck, IMO...

Good Luck...See ou on the Mspot maybe. I will post my driving results over time there.
Congrats Almatti, hope it continues to make you happy
What color did you end up with?

It's still not the best transmission, but at least I can live with it now.
Agreed. I had 075 applied and it did help, but 027(a) was much better. I call it "fixed" now. I had it applied in 06/12 at Sewell Infiniti, Dallas.

FORTUNATELY - The dealership called me back because of my concerns in their Customer Survey rating. So I'm taking the car back to the dealership which I will kindly explain that the lagging of 10-40mph and so forth with more technical info should help them assist me to update my tranny ECM/TCM to 027 from my 075. Wish me luck!

Another angle: In another thread on this forum, someone reports that the dealer replaced the ECU when it "could not be updated to 027".

Since this is a huge thread and not sure if this was discussed before, but I have a 09 X auto and did all the latest updates and still after about 200-300 miles it just went back to being sluggish. I then got the UpRev Tuner cable that you can mess with yourself and changed the sensitivity of the gas pedal along with the torque management values, and its a night and day difference. Drives so much better.

So just FYI for those still those struggling with this issue.

P.S. you can opt for the cheaper non tuner version and just have UpRev increase the values in those settings during your tune up.

Had the 027 upgrade done 7/1 and it is different performing car! Went for a drive here after I left the dealer and the car is now MUCH more responsive. Actual #s from the invoice are ECM 23710-3WP5A & TCM 31039-X458C

What year is your car? What were the specific symptoms before? Hard downshifts anymore?

Early 2011. Very seldom a harsh 2-1 downshift and lag when accelerating from coasting or slow downshift when accelarting from a steady cruise like on the freeway. Symptoms never really bother me that much until I drove a 2012 loaner. Leaving for a ride on Angeles Crest Highway now to see the difference from the last time I was up there.

Interesting proposal. I wonder how I could get my dealer to play along....

EDIT: I just emailed my service adviser and manager requesting them to replace my ECM and/or TCM. We'll see what happens.

I have a 2011 with the exact same complaint. Haven't said anything to the dealer about it yet.
