I cannot see the full TSB - but does it also now include 2012 Sedans?

Summary of ITB12027"

Does anyone have access to the updated TSB? Could you please post?

Thanks in advance!

I'd have to press on the accelerating much more to get it to actually downshift like 2 gears. I'm sure it has something to do with me sitting in stop and go traffic 2 hours a day.
Can you confirm the TSB was actually performed properly? Maybe you just experienced an ECU reset and now it's back to old habits?

I thought that too.....and AFAIK the only way to verify the s/w version is the Consult tool which I dont have.

Ive thought about calling the dealer and complaining that its back to normal, see what they say/do. My guess is they would tell me its up to date and "by design".

So I went into the dealership today to get the TSB done. They've done it to a few other cars. 2011 G37xS Sedan built in June 2011. They tell me the Consult says that the TSB doesn't apply to my car. Arggg...

They tell me the only things I can do are: complain to Infiniti Consumer affairs, and come back in a few months to see if it's been added to the list.

I just did an ECU reset on mine, will drive somewhat aggressively for a few days and see how it works. If/when it reverts back Ill contact the dealer.

Honestly if it didnt get *that* much better initially after the flash I wouldnt say anything. But once you feel how the car really can act its highly disappointing it didnt stick.

Yes...noticed this on my 12 G37S Sedan. Didn't want to add more fuel to the fire. It doesn't always happe but sometimes if I drop down a couple gears with the paddle (can't ever seem to remeber if I'm in 4th or 5th)....it almost seems as if the T/C unlocked and the rpms are just hanging around 1200 (which I know is too low)...then BAM..it engages whatever gear I called for. It makes me cringe, its that rough. Its happend maybe 4 or 5 times since I got the car this spring. I love nissan/infiniti but they just cannot get this 7SP right.

For the record, my 12 seems be the best programing yet. It only took 4 model years!

The flare that I had with my 09 G37x is 90% gone, but still happens every once in a while. What gives Infiniti?

The downshifts when rolling to a stop are much smoother, but every great once in a while I get a weird one.

My 2nd flash 09 jerked when pulling away from a stop sign when cold (as if getting hung up in 2nd then downshifting to first AS I started to pull away). BTW: This started THE DAY after getting the 2nd Flash. My 12 doesn't do this at all even in ice cold weather (got the car in March 12 but had some 20 degree mornings).

There is that odd paddle downshift issue described above too.

Honeslty, our 2012 Altima V6 w/CVT is so good it's hard to love the 7SP. YES the 7sp is faster and sounds better hammering around, but at 50% throttle or less (where most folks do 99% of their driving) the CVT owns the 7SP. Lay into it a bit and it just moves the car like an electric car.

Thanks, interesting when dealer tried to troubleshoot the thud, they compared my 2011 (with 027 flash) to a 2012 and said the 2012 acted similarly. I agree the 7AT probably with the best of intentions to make it do so many things (including learning driving habits), they over-engineered it. Who wants a transmission to learn bumper to bumper driving?

I agree that Infiniti had good intentions regarding the A/T but it's way too quirky. I too was told that my car did not need or qualify for the SB fix but I swear I am experiencing the exact conditions listed in the SB. When I took my car in for service, I brought a copy of the SB fully expecting that my car would get the re-flash. I received a 2010 G37 sedan as a loaner and the A/T shifted so much better than my 2011 Vert. When I returned the loaner and was informed that my car did not require the re-flash, I told the service rep there was a very noticeable difference in the A/T of the loaner. Long story short, they insisted that both the tech and service rep drove my car and found my A/T shifted properly. Some members in this forum and others suggested that I try a different dealer but I don't think it will matter since my VIN/build date is not covered in the SB. I really like my Vert but needless to say, the A/T performance is quite disappointing.

Glad/sad to hear that the downshift disengage/re-engage THUD is not just happening to me. It's frankly only happened once but it skeered the jebus out of me and made me think I need a tranny flush to get things right. Good to know that's not the case. Saves me dough.

Right...the thud sounds and feels like the car is hitting a brick wall for a split second......It really makes your stomach drop.

For the record. This has never happened in D or DS.

Only when using the paddles (and not really even in an abusive way).

I had this happened once during the first week after updating to 027a (for 09 sedan) when I was testing it. Been about two months so far happened twice when I floor it and I immediately back off. Just wondering if I have enough underwear to cover times when situation calls for a hard acceleration and I get this thud. I was planning on waiting it out for long term report but during a merge/ lane change the lag was an accident waiting to happened so I did the update.

Yes the update makes the shifting smoother and feel I do get little better mileage.
However I feel like the power is not making it to the wheel. Some described it as the torque converter is not locking... I think.

I have to say that my hot looking black G37S Vert has now become something that I don't have to overcome with the paddles. Driving in D is just awesome! I have a car that performs as well as it looks! I can now actualluly let my business partner take it and not have to give a disclaimer about the damn tranny. He tells me the car is awesome...awesome.

Make them put the right Pgm into both the TCM and ECM and you will be very happy.. Dealers have no clue. Keep taking it back until they get it right and then you will know.
