2011 G37 Re-Flash Update

Hi all,

Well I have about 600 miles on my new re-flash.

Overall it is MUCH better. Smoother downshifting, better acceleration and no more delay after braking (for the most part)

I still see lag in shifting from reverse or park to drive, and annoyingly, I still see an acceleration delay when doing about 30mph. At 30mph, if you brake a bit and then try to accelerate, that old one second delay is still there.

But it does not seem to happen at very low speeds or at higher speeds, so not nearly as painful as before.

Hopefully the car has stopped "learning" and will continue this way.

Guys,

Do you know if the new update is an ECU+TCU or is it just ECU? I just got mine done and It says that it is an ECU only for TCU.Also, can anyone provide the PartNum after programming (via PM if needed).

I drive an 09G37Xs .

Thanks!

Model Applicability

Are there any 2010 G's that this TSB would not apply to? I have a 2010 G37X coupe... and my dealership is insistent that this TSB doesn't apply to my model. To say the least, I am confused and disappointed! I had 10-075b applied last year...

Update is done and ive driven about 45 miles with the new program. So far, I'm a happy camper. Full disclosure: I've never really had the problems a lot of guy on here talk about.

Before the update, while cruising in a high gear like 6 or 7 and I would give it a little gas, the car would try to go and realize it needed help, so it would then downshift and give you the extra go. Now, same senerio, if I give it a little gas, the trans does not think about it and instantlly drops it down a gear and off I go. It feels like it has more torque.

Now I'm just talking about giving a little gas and the car feel much more responsive and ready to go.

So far, overall the trans feels like its running very smooth. We will see as I put more miles on it.

I have a 2010 G37x sedan. I done the update couple of weeks ago. I just mentioned about the 7AT lag and my dealer applied the latest TSB without any hesitation or question.

If your dealer continue to give you a hard time, perhaps you could try another dealer.

Remember thought that these transmissions are adaptive-learn and they get 'reset' with these programs and take a few days/however many to start learning the driver again.

Hope the fix is complete, as I hate the rolling stop lag, and the rev-matching pushing the car ahead.

Pretty happy after my morning reflash, not enough time to be sure, but it does feel significantly smoother, don't feel the clunk in the downshifts like I did previously and it's just smoother & more responsive for the most part. I did have a bit of acceleration delay too, not a full second but enough to notice that the reflash isn't perfect. Overall I'd say the AT is about an 8.5 out of 10 whereas prior I'd give it a 6/10. Like the quote^ hopefully this reflash won't outsmart itself w/ it's learning.

Who's your service writer there? I called the guys in Roswell today about my 09, and they said there wasn't a new TSB listed for mine, and gave me grief about TSBs and how they were for the techs only...blah blah blah. I asked him why Infiniti published it to the world, and he didn't have a good comeback. Unfortunately, my old service writer over there who was excellent has left...he would have known or found out about it and made it happen.

Anyone compared mileage before and after? The only thing I notice on my 2012 purchased 6/11 is a rare harsh downshift from 2nd to 1st when coming to a stop. Has happened maybe 5-0 times in the last year. It always seems in the right gear when turning a corner, the only thing is it could be more responsive at 60-70mph on the freeway. I do not want to make it worse.

Judson is his name. Dan Dienhart was the service consultant. I told Dan the problem with the trans was harsh down shifts and lag in higher gears.
Also talked to Judson and he was the one who told me they have had complaints about the trans lag and they have a new reprogram that there going to install and has received good feedback from the update. I also had the TSB sitting in the passenger seat just in case. I also got my oil changed for 1/2 off

Getting Mine done Friday on My 2009 G37 Sedan. No major issues as I have had it 3 weeks, but I notice some of the hard downshifting, so what the hell. I am going for it, it's FREE!
