I know this is an old thread. Still.....

I installed the Transgo shift kit from GTM. It torqued up the shifts beyond stock, but the shift timing remains the same.

It shifts harder under big load, but soft without it. I STILL wish it was firmer down below.

Grounding wires didn't change anything for me. Others report noticeable gains.

I also got a Level Ten upgraded torque converter. THAT was a worthwhile expense. It acts as normal, but when you tip into the throttle it jumps up 1000 rpm into the powerband. Right there.

I really wish there was a software vendor who would get into the trans ECU to make the shifts quick and firm. It's controlled by this, MORE than the mechanical modifications that the Transgo valve body mods make.

Every once in a while, my car hiccups and goes into 'limp' mode. It won't go beyond 2500 rpm. That said, when this happens, the trans jumps on each shift really sharp. By going into 'limp', the restrictions must be shut down.

That tells me the ECU, either in the trans or the main one, has more interplay than mechanical modifications.

I understand the Oriris software has a screen for 'Torque Management'. That is complex, but affects this area, and may be the key. We don't know enough about this at The Shop.

No matter what, the lousy shift timing is frustrating. It should change at the speed of electricity, if it wasn't going through a filter. I shift about 800 rpms ahead of schedule.

Thank you. I'll chat with John about this and ask him, and then test if he didn't.
