Im no expert either, but the good news is it didnt shear at all and your wear metals are all low.

Im kinda shocked at the additive package, its pretty simple and pretty basic. If you check out the other VOA's of other common oils, you will see that its probably the simplest of them all. Compare it to the recommended Nissan Ester oil. Its got more ppm of everything the Eneos has and a ton of Moly.

https://www.myg37.com/forums/engine-...-analyses.html

Calcium and Magnesium are detergents, and phosphorous and zinc are anti-wear additives. Thats it. Simple.

And this is also a semi-synthetic oil, correct?

If you told me that you had a semi-synthetic oil with this basic additive package that didnt shear and easily held up and looked good in our cars for 7500 miles, I would have called you and BB a liar.

As another pure amateur who for some reason has read a thousand of those UOAs in the past year, I like it . Looks like it maintained viscosity for 5000+ miles.

The website stats Mike posted in the other thread claimed an initial TBN of 6.4. So that's looking good too, like they said.

Glad I just put the stuff in my car a few weeks ago. I'll get a UOA done when I change it -- I'll be running 5K also.

So often we tend to make things harder than they have to be. So many people in the automotive community will tell you what won't or can't work based on absolutely nothing at all. It's not fully synthetic. It's not ester based. It's not the most expensive or latest. But it just works well. Don't ask me to explain how or why, it just does. And that's good enough for me.

I'm sure some will have their reasons that they'll hold on to as to why XYZ is allegedly so much better. I'll stick to what I know.

I just got an oil change last week. Ran Eneos 0w50 for 9600 miles lol 13k-22.6k. The oil looked fine, didnt see any metal flakes or anything.

I put 5w30 this time though since i run it so long.

So here's a recent 5000 mile UOA on PP on a mature G37 engine:

Wear metals even better than ucla bruin's latest report. But ending viscosity thinner. TBN about the same.

PP at Walmart costs a lot less than Eneos at Amazon. Is Eneos worth the extra money?

Are there any other PP UOA's around or is there just only 1 to go by?

BB showed the Eneos can go almost 10k miles without shearing, has anyone driven the full 7500 on Platinum with a UOA?

I never trust just one single piece of data in a data set because as we have seen with many other oils, UOA's can vary dramatically from driver to driver depending on how the car is driven...... although I feel like a broken record and have said this in other threads before.

And when you say "even better", we are talking about a few PPM here. Depending on WHERE and WHEN you get your oil from to send it for a UOA, it will vary a few PPM.

When you are draining your oil, if you take the oil out immediately and compare it to the oil which you take out at the end, you are going to see a difference in PPM across the board.

Don't mind at all. Thanks for posting!

Sample was taken in the middle of the drain. Not beginning or end.

I'll try to go 7500mi next, closer to what BB has done on his UOA, hopefully we'll have consistent results on ENEOS.

Danny,

Send an email to Blackstone and have them re-run your VOA sample. Re-send them your VOA and UOA and point out the calcium, phos, and zinc. They will re-run it for free because its not right.
