Various 5W-30 Virgin Oil Analyses
Various 5W-30 Virgin Oil Analyses
Here's a chart I started compiling from BITOG and other sources that may prove helpful.
Very curious as to the Pennzoil Ultra and Eneos VOAs . . .
Very curious as to the Pennzoil Ultra and Eneos VOAs . . .
Based on the Used Oil Analyses I have seen, I've not been impressed with Mobil 1 in the VQ37 compared to other UOAs. Probably why I left it off - I'll never use it.
Nice list. Hopefully you can add Eneos to it soon. I've captured the oil changed at 5309mi interval and another bottle of virgin samples. Haven't had the time to send them in, I blame it on USPS closing too early.....

Thanks bruin. Looking forward to it!
It appears that Pennzoil is phasing out Platinum in favor of Ultra. The Platinum VOA looks pretty good to me. Thin for good MPG but with a high flash point/Viscosity Index to stand up to the heat of the VQ37. And a stout TBN for 5K-7.5K OCIs.
Walmart has 5 qt jugs of Platinum marked down from $23 to $20.50, and there's a $5 instant rebate going on as well. $15.50 + tax for 5 qts of Platinum is a steal.
EDIT - Pennzoil is not phasing out Platinum. In fact, if you go to their Oil Selector page, they actually recommend using Platinum and not Ultra for the G37.

Ive also done a comparison which includes some other oils.

I have the VOA for Ultra as a 5w20. Im assuming its the same additive package for the 5w30 with just different viscosities.

Or perhaps they just haven't done testing on Infiniti with it yet.

I've used it since day 1 and haven't had any problems but am thinking of switching to Ultra on the next change to see if there's any difference
