Oil Filter Deals Online?

Does anyone have any recommendations for online retailers for OEM oil filters?

Thanks

OEM? Have you considered getting better filters?

If you have the OEM part #, just go a Google Shopping search and see what you come up with.

I'd just go with Mobil1 filters.

Personally, I like the 2-packs of Purolator Pure One filters from Amazon for $9.48.

Or, if you use the Nissan ester oil there are at least 2 sites that sell the OEM filters as part of a kit with 5 quarts of oil.
Nissan Oil Change Kit
Nissan Ester Oil 5W30. Specifically designed for the new 3.7 liter VQ engines.

Otherwise, if you really want just the OEM filter you might be better off picking it up at the Infiniti or Nissan dealership because from my research the online oem parts dealers seem to charge too much in shipping to make that particular purchase worthwhile.

Question

All thanks for the feedback.

For those using the Purolators, why did you choose them? I've always used OEM, but would be interested if you found research that proves they are better
than OEM.

Well, the PureONE filters use better materials... but I doubt that really matters.

The OEM filters are just re-branded FRAM. And the consensus on those is that they stink.

I don't think there will be any real proof of which one's better. Just like so many other products, some people swear by the brand of oil filters they use. Most likely any major brand will get the job done as long as they are changed at the recommended intervals. I've done a little bit of research on the web and have read that the Purolator PureOnes come well recommended and get good reviews. But I think it's the kind of thing where if you search for "X is the best oil filter" and substitute *any* brand name for X you will likely find a good argument in support of that brand.

As far as the Nissan OEM filters go, it seems they used to be top-quality filters; especially the older-style blue ones I think. Car companies probably don't make their own filters; most likely their oem-branded oil & air filters are built to spec by one of the major aftermarket filter manufacturers. More recently it has been speculated that Nissan might have changed their suppliers (they are said to be suspiciously similar to Fram filters these days). The upshot is they are no longer of the same quality. You know, it's the old "they don't make 'em like the used to."

Here's some pics of a few cut-open filters.

i have a deal on used oil filters -- buy 1 get 1 free lol

just don't use the cheap filters that are 0.99 cents and will just clog and not pick up all the debris in the engine
