Oil Filter Deals Online?
Personally, I like the 2-packs of Purolator Pure One filters from Amazon for $9.48.
Or, if you use the Nissan ester oil there are at least 2 sites that sell the OEM filters as part of a kit with 5 quarts of oil.
Nissan Oil Change Kit
Nissan Ester Oil 5W30. Specifically designed for the new 3.7 liter VQ engines.
Otherwise, if you really want just the OEM filter you might be better off picking it up at the Infiniti or Nissan dealership because from my research the online oem parts dealers seem to charge too much in shipping to make that particular purchase worthwhile.

All thanks for the feedback.
For those using the Purolators, why did you choose them? I've always used OEM, but would be interested if you found research that proves they are better
than OEM.

As far as the Nissan OEM filters go, it seems they used to be top-quality filters; especially the older-style blue ones I think. Car companies probably don't make their own filters; most likely their oem-branded oil & air filters are built to spec by one of the major aftermarket filter manufacturers. More recently it has been speculated that Nissan might have changed their suppliers (they are said to be suspiciously similar to Fram filters these days). The upshot is they are no longer of the same quality. You know, it's the old "they don't make 'em like the used to."
Here's some pics of a few cut-open filters.

just don't use the cheap filters that are 0.99 cents and will just clog and not pick up all the debris in the engine
