*FIX for high-pitch frequency noise*
Some people really can't hear this noise, so its frustrating on us and them. I guess the best thing to do is to cooperative instead of combative in this situation.
I'm happy that they are taking steps to fix the problem, its such a stupid problem/mistake that really hampered the enjoyability of the car. I was almost thinking "never again will i get another infiniti/nissan"
I had a 2006 model that I got rid of because of a sporadic problem with the radio that never went resolved... thought getting the 2009 I would be problem free.
Noise issues like this are so difficult to get anyone at the dealer to acknowledge... all of their "techs" work for hours a day amidst impact wrenches and other loud tools, that their hearing is shot! heh
Yea, I agree with everything you said. It just seems totally inexcusable. Also, the dealerships should have all been put on notice about this problem rather than trying to deny it's existence.

If customer complains about a mystery high pitch noise when the throttle is hit in neutral or in drive and the ac is turned off and the radio is turned off and if the mechanic can not hear it and it happens in hot/cold/wet/summer/winter env .... check the ecm
Well, one bit of bad news- my hypertech won't recognize my new ECM! Plus, my ECM shrieks like banshee from 7 to 7.5k I have noticed. Very unerving, and it seems as if it loses power right at that point.
Short story: Took my '08 G37S to Metro Infiniti for the high-pitch frequency noise. Ross Aragon said they couldn't hear it and gave me my car back. I asked them how long the test drive was and they couldn't answer me. I then asked them if there was anything else I can do, and he said no. I sent him an email to the threads here and documented our conversation. I then contacted Consumer Affairs.
Emily at Consumer Affairs and she tells me that there is nothing Infiniti can do on her end and Metro Infiniti was not able to recreate the "high-pitch frequency noise." I then asked her if it was possible to get her stance on the issue in writing as a memo, and she said NO. I asked her if I can get my own report in writing and she said NO. I asked her if there was any documentation or a standard procedure for test drives to ensure that the dealership did a proper test drive.
Her reply was that every dealership is different in their method or process. I asked her if Infiniti is aware of this issue and she said not for the '08 but for the '09. She further added there is nothing Infiniti can do since their is no TSB for this.
Does anyone know of a dealership in SoCal that is familiar with the issue and I can actually entrust to get this fixed? Sometimes I can't believe how dense these people are. I'm usually pretty damn busy, but I will take my time to file a claim with the BBB if I can't get this sorted out.

Wow, that's pretty crazy - so Infiniti is recommending replacement for the ECM for 2009s, but not any other year unlucky enough to have a bad ECM? My dealership didn't give me any problem at all....you do have a pretty extensive list of mods - perhaps they are simply blaming your mods, nut not telling you that...

The customer service strikes me as much closer to 1980's Hyundai than any upscale brand.
So my infiniti service department says that they don't know how to fix the noise because there are no bulletins or advisories on it, and they chuck it up to "its a characteristic of the car".
Is there a refference number I can use for the fix when I call Consumer Affairs because right now I am at a loss

seems to be hit or miss with consumer affairs for some people. But just call consumer affairs and tell them about your problem. Their regional rep will give you a call back and they are the ones that should know how to fix it.
