I wouldn't be surprised if they come up with a similar solution. lol

 

I think they know it's the ECU and would likely know how to fix.
The fix might be expensive (to retro-fit into 1000s of cars) and also might not have a solution that's easy to deploy to the field.

 

You'd think with all the bad press that Toyota is getting that Infiniti would pull out all stops to fix this problem for us in order to keep them from becoming the next news story.

 

I can't believe the blunder! Not sure how many other owners are actually annoyed or (literally )sick of this noise but I will never recommend another infiniti again if this is not resolve. 36k+ for an noisey pos.

 

Well, the noise hasn't killed anybody yet, lol, I don't think it will unless one of us goes off the deep end from the constant eeeeeeeeeeeeeee and ends up on a clock tower with a rifle, across the street from an infiniti dealership....

 

Does anyone know if the 2010 G sedans have this issue also?

 

fellas, according to the dealer insulating the ECU might cause overheating-->fire hazard. This is why after speaking with the Infiniti Help Tech line they were advised NOT to do this.
So, i also think that just insulating the firewall/engine area might not be a good long term solution....
I would also like to know if this occurs on '10's, however, i don't see why it wouldn't. I doubt infiniti decided to switch to a different ECU's design on a vehicle that was meant to only get an external facelift.

One of the Eastern Regional managers left me a voice mail that "there was a fix coming out sometime in the next week". This was 2 weeks ago. The same day the dealership called me to tell me my part was "in transit" so I got excited. However, there was some sort of miscommunication on their part and now the dealership said that they are actually waiting on Infiniti to release the latest (C series) ECM to them. I'm not sure how long it's going to take though.

For those who can't get their dealership to hear or acknowledge the problem, definitely call Consumer Affairs and be persistent. This is a KNOWN problem.

 

For me, if there is no immediate fix I will advocate for a buyback hard.
Here's the bottom line, if there's a problem there has to be a solution for the consumer or otherwise why am I paying for something they can't fix.

 

dealer called said the part came in, my car is going in tomorrow morning for the fix. cross your fingers everyone!

 

So true... and it's really just common sense... my whole Dynamat thing was just to rib Nissan/Infiniti a bit... lol

Glad there seems to be a fix though... I wonder what it is exactly.. a whole new ECU?

 

Beerme, good luck and please document the part number for the replacement piece. This was all of us can quote our dealers with the part. I wonder if they will try to pull a placebo effect on you...
