*FIX for high-pitch frequency noise*
Is the ECB is located where the passengers feet are? Behind all the panels and the glove box as shown here DIY: Infiniti G35/G37 ECU Removal - G35Driver
Is the ringing noise more audible when you put your ears where the passengers feet are? For me, the noise goes away when I dip my head down under the glove box, its almost as if there is sound proofed insulation that makes the noise inaudible there...
But I can hear it very pronounced outside of the car, front and back seats, and when I get close to both tail pipes, its as if the ringing starts behind the engine somewhere and bounces all thru the car and out of the exhaust

Had anybody here have this issue fixed at the Atlantic Infiniti in Jacksonville, FL? I've taken the car there 3 times and each time they are coming up with a different excuse and are denying that it is a defect.
What about dealership in Orlando or Tallahassee FL? Has anybody's issue been fixed there?
I would love to talk to an Infiniti's service representative whose job is not to deny the problem, be it in Corporate customer service or at the dealership level.

I get a rattle out of my steering wheel. I think the airbag is lose. when I'm driving I have to pust the horn slightly to make it stop lol. What is the deal with these cars?
My dealer up in Canada finally fixed my ECM. It should be noted that I made the initial request on April 13, 2010 and had to wait until October before it was finally rectified.
My center console also creaks and crackles whenever it experiences lateral pressure (ie turning!!!!!) Dealer replaced washi fascia that was causing the squeak- but misaligned the center console upon reinstall (now the washi trim underneath the center console has a larger gap on the right side than the left with respect to the console). The sounds still remain, AND the console has compression damage under the center console.
I love this car, but I can just about guarantee that this is my last infiniti unless service improves.

I just bought a used 2009 G37 Sedan and am having this same problem. I brought my car to Infiniti today to get serviced. Their service department is awesome, but, unfortunately, they said they couldn't hear the problem. I'm going in there tomorrow to sit in the car with one of them. What should I tell them? Are there any official releases from Infiniti on this problem? A reference number or something would help.
Also, for those that have had their ECM replaced over 4-5 months ago, is that high pitch still gone?
Did you have to have any parts replaced with the ECM?

The dealership first reflashed my ECU. Noise was still there.
Then they replaced the transmission (never got under the car to ascertain that they really did do so--i didn't notice any improvement on the shifting). Noise was still there.
They finally replaced the ECU (or at least they said they did). I still get the noise.
At that point I was like **** it, I'll live with the goddamn noise

ECM fix completely took care of the problem for me.
I managed to fix my creaky center console by taking apart each section (cup holder, shift assembly. Giving everything a thorough coat of Jigalube and reassembling.
Now I only have the windscreen popping. . .

The first dealership I brought it to claimed they couldn't hear the sound and that it was operating as normal. I don't understand how the car can be normal when there is a difference in sound between my G37 and the loaner G37. And how can you claim it is normal when you stated you can't hear the sound?
I think I'm going to bring my laptop next time. If you record your car running, you can filter out the high pitch noise in GarageBand using a Parametric Equalizer. Just set the Frequency to 10kHz, the gain to -20dB, and the Q to 20. You can also isolate the high pitch noise with a high pass filter at around 9.5kHz. I'm hoping these audio samples will draw attention to what they should be listening for.

The second dealer claimed they could not hear the sound when I took him for a test drive. He claimed he could hear the sound when I presented the audio through GarageBand. I called consumer affairs, who were very nice about it, but claimed that they cannot do anything unless the repair technicians can hear the sound. Kind of at a loss of what to do now other than roll my windows down and blast my radio.
Anyone in Florida have this problem resolved?
I think I'm willing to drive 500 miles to get this problem fixed.
And by the way, the service repair man also said there was nothing wrong with the way my car downshifted. He then flashed the ECM with an upgrade and the hard downshift went away. That problem didn't get fixed because he observed abnormal behavior, but only because there was a TSB issued for it.
