RPM drops and stalls after startup

Hi, I've been noticing lately my car is acting weird. This only happens after the car been properly warmed up. For example, After I turn my car off and come back like 15-20 mins later then I start the car and the rpm needle drops like its about to stall and comes back to the normal idle point. My car actually stalled out today cause of this!!! I'm positive that I floor the clutch every time when I push the Start button. Any inputs? Thanks!

maybe your VVEL rockers are getting stuck?

I notice that when the engine is cold started (in California that's not very cold) , if you just tap on the accellerator pedal 'ever so gently' it causes the engine to behave erratically for a few seconds...

Had same problem. The car was serviced UNDER WARRANTY, they cleaned and reprogrammed the throttle valves. No more stalls!!! Hope this may solve yours.

Typically, a ECU reset will fix this.

Happens to me too. Haven't taken it in because I have a CAI I'm afraid they're going to complain about. Will try resetting ECU first.

I should add, if you're doing an ECU reset, PLEASE make sure you're on 91 fuel, and no additives in the tank (cleaners, octane boosters, etc.)

I had the same issue. When I shut the car off, and turned it back on it was hesitant for a few seconds and I was getting a knocking noise which sounded like an oil pressure issue. I switched to Motul X-maxx 5w30 which is ester based, I haven't had a problem since.

I don't promise results... just happens to be the fix maybe 80% of the time.
