Update - 8/7/09 -

Hoffman Estates dealership confirmed that my vehicle had the most recent trans harsh shifting update and that a an update was not needed.

Test Drive with tech for about 20 minutes and here were the results.

A. The tech acknowledged that at the 4/3 down shift there was an increase in the RPM as the car shifted.

B. The down shift seemed appropriate to the tech as he has experienced it in other 2009 vehicles with the 7-speed.

C. The tech will keep an eye out for future shifting issues as drives more 2009s

D. I expressed my concern that regardless of how "normal' the shift appeared in low gears that I fully expected a smoother shifting vehicle at this price point.

E. The test drive and my concerns were logged into the Infiniti service file and hopefully tweaks will be forthcoming.

F. I always send in surveys after about a month of usage - filled out the survey and mentioned the trans issues.

G. Most likely I will get use to the experience or there will be a change.
