Why the hate for Stillen Exhaust?
So, i've been wondering, when exhaust threads pop up, nobody ever reccomends the Stillen Exhaust and I've only seen a handful of people with it. People complain of fitment issues, drone, ect.
Now, I purchased the Stillen Unit for my Sedan, and the fitment was PERFECT. Could not have asked for better. Also, the quality seemed top notch including the Stainless Steel used and the craftsmanship of the welds.
On top of that, it sounds incredible on the Sedan (IMO of course). Slightly louder than stock, but never becoming obtrusive while retaining the awesone VQHR37 sound. (I've noticed that a lot of popular exhausts for the G37 coupe change the overall sound of the exhaust instead of deepening it.) Plus, I have NO drone whatsoever at any rpm.
Is it a Coupe/Sedan difference because of the coupe only having one muffler vs two for the sedan? It's just odd that you can get the full catback including Y-Pipe for right at $1k shipped (For the Sedan) and nobody is using it. Strange. Opinions?

I don't think I've ever seen their exhaust for the sedan.
Care to post pics?
Well I think most Coupe guys are looking for a sound that is a little bit louder than what the Stillen offers. It's fitment and quality looks good tho

I was congratulating you on being different.

Thanks for the props though, it's all relative and I appreciate your input..

But, fwiw, I see A LOT of women driving G35/G37 coupes around here. I would say more women drivers than male drivers. But, it's all in what you like, right?? Btw, I do like your coupe. Tastefully done.

Looks good man. Fitment of the tips looks better than the Coupe's fitment. They seem to stick out a lil too far on the coupe, which could be another reason why it's not all that popular
Congrats on the new exhaust.
I have the coupe, and I prefer 2 separate canisters in the rear, it looks meaner.
The Stillen exhaust looks almost the same as the OEM, and if I want a new mod and will spend money, I want it to look different than stock.
Your sedan's exhaust looks mean, since it's 2 separate canisters.

Customer service issues? Product issues? Maybe I got lucky, but Stillen was the only manufacturer I could find that made exhaust for the Sedan, and their customer service as well as product was top notch. That was, of coures the only exhaust I could find for the Sedan until after I installed the Stillen unit, then I came across somebody that has the FI exhaust on their sedan. I have no regrets though, thankfully.
Yeah, I guess your right, or people over the age of 25 who have a 420 whp coupe that runs mid elevens to drive when they feel like it or want to look "cool". Or people with kids (which I don't have), or people that need a little space in the trunk, or people that like "sleeper" cars, or maybe because the Sedan is faster than the coupe, or maybe because it's cheaper on insurance and price, thus a better bargain than the coupe, or, blah, you get the point.

I like seeing someone mod a sedan. I do think the coupe and sedan exhausts have different tones and fit different.
My personal opinion, I think most Stillen Products svck, I think they're over-rated and cost too much especially for the quality you get. For the price you pay you can get something else for better most definitely. As for customer service, they're there but I don't think they know their own product for the vq very much, seems like they're just trained to think as our stiff stillen stuff is better and that's it, go technical and they get confused. I have seen people with their superchargers get no help from their own company when they had questions and had to figure how to do things on their own. But heck, everybody has their own stories and opinions. I like the Stillen front license plate bracket though
