8k Redline

Hey guys ive done a thorough search and i can't find anything. I was lookin at a thread on the370z, And i was wondering... They say that a lot of us G37's are running 8k redlines, with no problems so far.

I myself love having a high revving car, i envy S2k's, M3's, and even Civic SI's for their unreal rpm limits. Who here is running 8k redlines and how are you doing it? Cobb AP raises 500 revs right? Technosquare?

Any problems so far w/ the engine if i do something like this?

Stock i know we can go a little extra before reaching the rev limiter, i think like 7700-7800? That does look different, barely reaching 8k. Interesting..

Also, on the Cobb map information PDF it says:

Stage I: Latest Calibration Rev: 1.02
Calibration and Calibration Notes Updated: 03/24/09
Description: Stage1 91 v102 - Intended for an otherwise stock
vehicle with a stock or cat-back exhaust and a STOCK INTAKE SYSTEM
ONLY. Intended for a minimum 91 octane petrol. Rev limit increased
by 500 RPM.

Hardware Requirements: Stock vehicle with a STOCK INTAKE SYSTEM and
STOCK FUEL INJECTORS ONLY.
Fuel Requirement: Minimum 91 octane.
Power Output: +3.0% HP / +2.0% lb-ft. Results may vary.
Anyone tried this?

Are there proven horsepower gains for extending the redline to 8000 RPMs? Otherwise it'll be all show and no go...

Our stock rev limiter is set to 7800rpm. It won't harm the car at all. When you shift at that point you're keeping the rpm on the sweet spot for the next gear. So you won't fall out of the powerband.

^ Yeah, but what i mean is raise the rev limiter to like 8300 perhaps? Just a few hundred more.
