Apparently yes, unless you are willing to shell out 60k+ or get a regular Sedan

That is because they are all power gears, not a cruising gear.

G's don't artificually inflate MPG. Vettes shift from 1->4

Your friends vette also has a V8. A tall 6th gear probably works better in bigger engines with more torque, rather than high revving V6's. It would be nice to have a 'cruising' gear to get awesome gas mileage though.

I think 6th on the VQ37 is perhaps geared too aggressively. I think somewhere in the manual it suggests going into 6th gear while driving 60km/h (37mph). I think that's really a slow speed to be putting into the 'overdrive' gear.

On highway cruising, I have attained 28mpg (US gallons, not the stupid imperial gallon that is quoted in Canadian newspapers to inflate / confuse fuel economy numbers that we try to compare with our neighbors to the south... ) during the summer months and now lucky to achieve 24-25mpg in the winter months.

Yeah, it would nice to say we can hit 30mpg highway, but pragmatically speaking, it's probably more of a psychological barrier than anything.

What other approximately 330 HP V6 engines are you guys comparing this to when determining that the highway MPG is too low for this engine?
