Review Cobb AP Used W/ Blitz T.C.
Cobb AP Used W/ Blitz T.C.
I've had my Cobb AP now for 3 weeks and I think it's great. I started off at stage 2 immediately. I only have the Injen Intakes & HKS exhaust for now (I will be getting HFC's after HIN in march since I need to work on the exterior now). I felt the difference immediately after reflahshing to stage 2. The car felt so much smoother from take-off, and I finally felt more power on the low-end all the way through the power band.
After taking a few runs with the Blitz throttle controller off, I turned it on and immediately set it to SP3, and man did the car just take-off! My foot was only half way down on the throttle and it like it was stomped to the floor from take-off. This is a great combo since the Cobb AP really helped out on the power loss on the bottom end and the Blitz creating much quicker throttle response.
I flashed to stage 1, since stage 2 had me running rich. I felt a slight difference in power from stock, but not as much as stage 2 in which you can really feel more torque. I have a 5AT and even the shifts felt slightly smoother in manual mode.
I will post an update as soon as I can get time to run this set-up in the canyons where the Blitz TC really thrives since it call for you to be on-and-off the throttle.
I highly recommend this set-up, especially for those who have felt the low-end loss experienced with putting intake & exhaust mods and for those looking for very quick throttle response.

I remember that long debate about blitz TC.

No doubt it works. I'm just hoping COBB would do it on the next map revision. If not, I'll definately get it. Did your car sounded different after AP install? Mine seems kinda quiet but smooth sounding, sorry it's hard to explain. I used stage2, couldn't wait a week for a dyno run.
It definitely did sound much smoother, right from the 1st run.
Cobb might if there is enough demand for a map with increased throttle positioning. But the only disadvantage is that you will be stuck with that throttle positioning when that map is installed. With the Blitz, you can adjust the throttle sensitivity so you don't sacrifice gas milage and drivabilty.

Nah, I only go on SP3 when I know I'm gonna drive hard. I actually drive on ECO mode to get better gas milage. SP3+Stage 2 = Bad Gad Milage.
I'm back to stage 2 now and I think I'm gonna stay that way. I didn't enjoy stage 1 very much.
