Supercharger vs Turbocharger

I'm seriously considering adding a turbocharger or a supercharger to my engine. Which would u guys recommend as far as performance and dependability?

I've heard that Vortech is a pretty good brand, but that applied to the G35 coupe.

There are some turbos out but they are only in-house installs.

don't know who is actually in testing for these things. however, since the z is coming out next year, i'm sure the turbo and supercharger manufacturers want to have something coming on line fairly soon.

Figured i would post my reasoning now that i have more time....

although TT kits can obviously be more pricey they produce much more power and i dont know anyone who doesnt like the sound of a nice BOV... On the other hand super charger wine drives me insane on Gs and Zs... They also lack the output of torque and if you do decide you wanna up your HP figures all you need if your TT is get a new map made... with a charger you will most likely need to change the pulley and a few other mods...

hahah but ryan... in all honesty for performance reasons i hope you dont argue that a turbo kit would be better... and thats what turbo timers are for... leave your car and it will stay running for a minute or two... our 3.7Ls wont have much problem spooling either...

def a turbo will offer more hp/tq gains hands down. but be cautious there is alot more hidden maintance people aren't aware of, parts will need to be built up if you plan going with a high boost.
I know you know, no need to argue with an ex STi owner on boost, your probably one of the most knowledgable here.

Yea which is why i said TT is far more expensive.... if your car is a DD a charger works better for more people... i wont argue with you there

IMO, I think many people preferred superchargers for the previous generation G because they were less expensive, easier/cheaper to install, CARB smog legal, etc. However, from a pure performance standpoint, they didn't have the power potential of a turbo system.

^^ true true, but i'm actually curious to know how much boost our cars can actually take without building up the motor. I know you can get decent gains from a supercharger, but your point is correct most with a turbo want more power, but how much more than a supercharger can you actually get out of a turbo on the stock block?
i havent seen ANY engine reinforcements out for our car yet.
