Redemption! I still have the problem at about the same rate as before, although it is colder outside. Thanks to all for your comments and support on this.

I've noticed this happening on occasion too. So when I take it to the service department to get it fixed, what should I tell them? Should I print out the bulletin and bring it to them as well?

That's exactly what I am going to do at my first scheduled service. It happens about 2-3 times a day on my car but not each day, only intermittently after aggressive driving. I imagine that the brake wear is greatly increased by this happening.

It happened 5 times since I got G. Mine is almost 4000miles. I went to dealer 4days ago and explain this problem but they said never heard about it. So I gave them TSB number. after 3 hours... they told me reprogrammed ECU for power train.

Happens to me as well and I live in SoCal where cold is anything below 70. The car seems to want to keep going just before you come to a full stop so I'd guess it's an internal downshifting problem. If I blow a red light and a cop pulls me over I'll just tell him the car didn't want to stop.

Did the problem go away after they reset the ECU

My G does this too. Glad to hear that I'm not the only one.

Maybe has to do something with the rev-matching feature?

Is the ECU adaptive to the driving conditions after a reprogram? I have heard this from a few people but need some confirmation.

Cheers!

ECU controls not only engine but also power train. I feel more smooth gear shifting. No increase engine rpm at low speed until now.

Any news/update on the surging of the G, stopping after resetting the ECU, or taking it into the dealer?????

I am taking my G in for its first service on Saturday....

I am going to tell them about it, and see what they say.

I also had the intermittent idle surge problem when braking. I took a copy of the TSB to the dealer for the 3750 mile service. They reprogrammed the ECM, as per the TSB and no more problem. The TSB calls for a reprogramming of the ECM with updated software, not just a reset, as some posters have said. The overall shifting of the tranny is MUCH smoother and seems to hold higher revs longer between shifts. Very happy now!
