I'm still a bit unclear on what people are talking about when saying you don't need a long screwdriver as long as you remove the glove box itself. But isn't that what the guy is doing, and is unable to do it without removing those screws first, hence the need for the long screwdriver? Do people mean removing the glove box door, which has its own hinges I'm assuming?

Also, it seems people are saying there's a ledge at the back of the housing for the cabin air filter, and to make sure the back and front is flush? But if the rear of the cabin filter needs to rest on a ledge in the back of the housing, it's not really flush, is it?

Ok, I just got back from doing mine. Everything went well, all the screwholes are lined up BUT....only 2 out of the 4 screws at the top of the glovebox will tighten down. I triple-checked to see that the holes from the trim piece and the glovebox line up, but they just don't catch. Everything's flush and appears snapped in, so I'm not sure what's going on.

Whichever screw isn't tightening down u gotta push the corner so the hole lines up better and don't fully tighten down any screw until all screws are almost down then tighten them all

Update: I'm at the dealer for an oil change, and they had their tech look at it.

Turns out the screws aren't tightening down because the tabs that the screws screw into snapped off; they're not there anymore. Not sure why, I wasn't unnecessarily rough with putting the pieces back in. Is the plastic just brittle? *shrug*

theres a u nut that goes over the tab where the screw goes in. if the u nut is not there theres nothing for the screw to screw into. it coulda fell off the tab when you did the install or just missing u can buy at hard ware store. go match it up. now if the tab is not there bc it broke off you shouldve noticed it. maybe u can glue it back idk

Fast forward to around the 4min mark. You'll see why a longer screw driver is not necessary. I did it the other way last time, will try this way today.

So... The method above works well. However, it's important to follow all the steps.

I did not release the bottom hinge tabs enough before removing the top from the l/r slots and wound up breaking two of the bottom tabs. Nothing a little jbweld couldn't fix. Used a #2 pencil in the hole to help keep the tabs from drooping. I'd say this method makes it easier at those 3 deep screws.
