DIY: Clean your Throttle Bodies
Did this the other day. Very simple to do, throttle bodies were super dirty and rpm's would fluctuate when I came to a complete stop, to the point where the car would almost shut off. After I cleaned the throttle bodies my G runs great, with no more rpm fluctuation and starts up with superb force. Very great DIY, glad I did this myself and will definitely keep doing this every oil change or so.

Can anyone tell me if you have to do the idle relearn procedure and all that other learning crap after you clean the throttle bodies? I thought the original poster of this DIY said you don't have to if you don't disconnect the wiring to the throttle bodies??? How come people didn't disconnect the wiring during cleaning and it's still having a messed up high idle after?
And I'm doing this on my VQ35HR motor with dual throttle bodies on my 09 FX35. I assume it's the same way right since the G37's motor is practically identical.

If you wanna make sure you don't negatively affect the idle or get any CELs, is to take off the TB's and spray directly onto the TB valves and surrounding area with TB cleaner without touching or moving the valve itself. It will probably not gonna be as thorough in terms of residue removal but there's no way it would cause any issues.
cleaned my TBs yesterday and everything went great. Drove the car around all day and it drove great. I also let it sit off several times for hour + to make sure I would not have starting issues. Well this morning, when i go to start the car, the car sounds like its choking and wont start. its def not battery and its gotta be related to TB. I dont have time to troubleshoot now as I have to get to work but hopefully after work. any ideas in the meantime?
Does anyone have suggestions on how to move the intake hose if you dont have a CAI?
That big rubber hose has minimal clearance and I can barely get to the hex screws on the bottom of the throttle body. I can get the hose off the throttle body but short of disconnecting the whole thing what is an easy way to move it for a few inches of space to work in?

Just did this via the process described minus cracking open the throttle body, and it works great. Used a rag, Qtips and cleaner to get out all the gunk. Didn't need to reset anything. Thanks for the directions!
Great write up. Did this today EXACTLY how the OP wrote it up and I had no issues at all.
Car idles smoother and accelerates a little smoother.
Point of interest: if I hadnt done this today, I wouldn't have seen that my driver's K&N RAI silicone sleeve was folded under the hose clamp and not on the TB.
Some advice: double and triple check your work before you reconnect the battery and start your ride. It will save CEL's and time.

Just did mine, and I think its idling a little high... just about 800, but it doesn't go up and down like it used to. Just thought I would add, I made a 460 mile trip and on the way down, prior to TB cleaning I averaged 24.4 mpg, and on the way back, after cleaning the TB I got 25.6. I was shocked, same speed, weight in the car and everything.
I'm probally I little late to the party on this one ,But why remove the TB. I have always cleaned mine on the car( Usually running ) But was also cable TB cars. I would leave it on the car and clean the intake and runners also. Which I know you talked about being dirty, I was going to look at mine at my next oil change( 5500 miles ) after my SC kit was installed. Sorry for posibly being late.
