Great write-up! Very valuable information! This is a must do for all owners! Just put it on your yearly maintenance schedule or every 12,000 miles (whichever comes first) and you will see that it helps your vehicle idle smoother and start better.

That's great to hear
Did you have any idle issues before?
If you guys want to take it one step further, you can take off the plenum and spray the inside with TB cleaner. I did my plenum and used probably two cans to clean it all. There's A LOT more blow by in there. The engine became much smoother and quieter at idle. I also immediately installed a GReddy catch can to prevent any further oil from building up.

Very Bad idle problems I had! First car would drop below 1000 rpm and actually would die on me , even after the TSB for battery issue it still dropped idle, and at start up idle dropped way low and would take 3 attempts to start cause it would shut off. Right now after I did the TB cleaning it's def night and day diff, I immediately noticed the Idle and accel, even at stop lights it is breathing heavy and has a smooth/throaty exhaust note like it had no hesitation, very very good to do if anyone has high mileage or at least every 10,000 miles it should be done...
Yeah man I was having so much fun cleaning TB that I looked at plenum thinking hmmm I would love to get i'n there but we def need a DIY b4 I go that route lol I don't want to mess anything up.

Simple Green is soapy and gets sticky. You want an oil based product to keep the TB valves moving freely. TB cleaners are kinda like a mild degreaser mixed with WD40. It smells like WD40 but cleans like a degreaser lol :P

Okay I finally manned up and done this.
Went through all the steps, i couldn't find a decent TB Cleaner, so I've used a bit of WD40 on the Cloth and started rubbing until It looked shiny and clean. But i haven't touched the Butterfly Valve or even tried opening it.
I was afraid to mess something up. I started the car idled much much better, smoother, but i still get the jerk between time and time. Not as much as it was b4.
Do i have to open it up again and try cleaning the surrounding of the Buttery fly valve? And push it open and clean beneath it. Anything i have to take care of b4 doing so?
Sorry for the noob questions.
Thanks again Q8y for the great post man. Appreciate it.

push the valve gently and you shouldn't have any problems (the valve only opens one way and not the other. You'll know what I mean when you do it).

I tried to get take off the 4 bolts with the 5mm allen key but I realized after taking 3 of them off, I couldn't reach the last one with my tool. I guess I need a longer one? How big of an allen key did you guys use?

FYI..
I've brought this issue up with the dealership and they told me there was a SB to clean the valve. I'm going in this Friday to get it taken care of. I could have done it myself but if my dealership is willing to do it for me under the SB, then even better!
