-- NOTE , do not try resetting your ecu when you have any sort of fuel additives or things in your car that you wouldnt normally have. So fuel cleaners , higher octane fuel , different fuel than you normally run...dont try this then.
So, if you were to fill up with 87 oct. and reset the ECU, would it correct the timing for lower octane? Maybe remove the knock, but i think knocking has to do with high octane having a lower knock index or something i heard?
I got it to work the first time i got an SES light. My SES light came back again tonight, been trying this like 40 times still can't get it, I'm so pissed off!
I tried this like 5 times today, I think Im messing up in the first few steps since I cant get the service engine light to blink at all, video would be awesome
I downloaded the G37 Technical Manual last year, as this is how you reset the ECU. I have tried several times as well, just comes down to getting your timing correct. Hope this helps
I did it the sure way and dissconnected the battery, I ran into one problem though, my windows would fall all the way down when the door was opened. I learned how to reset them and now everything works perfectly and I hope it will adapt rightly to my bolt ons. If anyone runs into the window problem and needs help let me know, thanks
A dumb question to ask....When u guys say CEL blinks, do u guys mean service engine light? Cos thats finally the only icon blinks when i tried 20 times...
You won't feel a difference I can assure you of that. If your check engine light was on it should no longer show up. That's about all you will notice the rest is in your head
That might not always be true. A Check Engine Light is always the result of a problem but a Service Engine Soon light could be it's time for some kind of regular maintenance or an engine problem, depends on the car. I can't remember which car it was, but one of my previous cars had both a CEL and SES. The SES was what came on when I needed an oil change.
