Rain water and paint....

When my car sits in the driveway the hood sits fairly flat so rain water tends to pool or beed without running off the car... I would have never thought this to be a problem, but the when the water evaporates it leaves these spots! They are not on the surface as they don't rub out.... they look like clouds in the clear coat itself. Last time this happened they did go away after several days and I hope these do the same.

What's the deal? Anyone experience this before?

The pooling isn't normal unless your car is sitting on an incline offsetting the cars natural runoff. However, water spots are completely normal. It's the minerals, acids, etc. in the water left behind after it evaporates.

A good way to help eliminate it is to WAX YOUR CAR! LOL ..A nicely waxed car "Beads" the water and lets it fall off more easily and also protects the paint from allowing those things to settle in.

That's great advice.... problem being that I do wax my car quite frequently! Yes, my driveway is on a incline and the spots are not on the surface. They are not hard, calcium or acid... Polish has absolutely no effect on them. Like I said in my post... they fade away after about a week.

So they don't wash away if you wash the car, but fade after a week? That's odd. Maybe the wax you are using??? Just sounds abnormal. Due to the incline, try backing in instead of pulling in to see if it eliminates the pooling.

Ya, they don't wash, wax or polish away.... looks like as if moisture is being absorbed into the clear coat, but IDK if that is even possible? I wonder if my wax is not sealing and I need to use a specific sealer? I have been polishing out the swirls by hand (I know I need to get a polisher), but the point being I wax her when I'm done and spend quite a bit of time doing it.

Thoughts?

I can park backwards, I was concerned if the trunk gutter would drain correctly or pool and overflow water somewhere I least want it.

You need to use a porter cable or flex with a good polish to get those off. Use a good quality sealant instead of the wax or use both, will help.

Or do what I do, make sure the car never gets wet lol unless it's being washed.

It is more likely that it got into the wax. Maybe try a sealant?

Try a decontamination product (Carpro IronX) and then renew your paint protection.
