If you are going to replace the head unit you should know that you are probably lose the voice commands if they put the 09 version, like in this thread:

I haven't read the fine print when it comes to Infiniti cross-border warranties but that fact is many companies do not have cross-border warranties... Big companies such as Canon and Nikon are a few that do not honour cross border warranties. If you bought your camera in the states and brought it up here and told Canon Canada to fix it - they would laugh in your face. Think about it. Canon and Nikon don't deal with selling their products - instead they have wholly owned subsidiaries like Canon Canada Inc. or Nikon US Inc. that are each responsible for a geographic region. They import the cameras, and they set the price. Infiniti does the same thing - Infiniti (division of Nissan Canada Inc.) sets the price based on what the Canadian market will bear. On the other side of the border the American division sets it own price (which happens to be much lower than ours) and sets its own rules. Keep in mind these subsidiaries run the repair biz too so they are responsible for providing warranty service not Infiniti head office. Thus, the set the rules for where and when warranties are honoured. And generally they will only honour warranties on products that they themselves sold. So, if you bought your car or camera in Canada, it would come with a CDN warranty. Keep in mind you could always send it back to the US if your warranty is there and they will honour it. Some CDN companies will honour a US warranty...but good luck finding them.

The cross-border issue was huge last year when the CAD hit $1.10 US... most companies at that time were panicking they they & their regional dealers were going to suffer. As a result, many companies even today are sticking hard to those clauses buried in the books...

^^^ That's mostly true, except the US warranty is honoured in Canada.

I did all my research before importing the car!

This would make sense if they were denying your warranty work. But if they will do your warranty work and not give you a loaner than that is BS. Doesnt every Infiniti dealer provide a loaner for warranty work?

The way I see it you have four innovative ways of getting results:

(Good) Approach #1 - Go to another dealership in the GTA - there must be a bunch and therefore the competition is self-regulating.

(Better) Approach #2 - Have your attorney write them a letter and cc Infiniti of Canada.

(Best) Approach #3 - Arrange a press conference on the street at the dealer and invite the CBC.

(Ultimate) Approach #4 - Park the car in front of their dealership with a huge sign in the back window that says "do not buy a car from these idiots, they ripped me off" that might get their attention...

I doubt that will do anything if that is "company policy".

just go there and ask for a copy of the company policy and ask them to highlight it in front of you

Yeah, I replied back to ask for details. We'll see what happens...

If that fails, I'll just go to another dealership. I just hate how this is a big hassle, I don't need this kinda **** around this time of year.
