Angry New Navigation unit for 2009

I got my G37 on 9-8-7. I totally love the navi voice commands. There was a technical bulletin out there for the "scrolling of the audio presets". It was ordered under warranty six months ago.

Well, it finally came in. No problem. Went there this morning to get it installed. I thought it'd be cool seeming a whole brand new dvd and navi.

Well, I hate it!!!! I lost the ability to say, "Tune 102.7", temperature control, "Destination Caroline" (my fiance). Grrr!!! I hate it!

But, I will get over it. I have a beautiful car, and it's the holidays. People out there have no jobs, and here I am bitching about my NEW cd,audio, navi unit.

But, still, I hate it. It is super dumb now!

No!!! That sucks ;[ A lot of us wish we had that verison of the navi with full voice commands, and you just lost yours. Was the scrolling of audio presets really a problem?! Maybe they can just give you back the old one/

No, it wasn't a problem at all. I also lost all my music! Meh, too lazy now to go back and ask for it. No big deal. Hey, at least it's new.

You can only do it with early 2008 models. Late 2008/2009 are gimped for the full voice command list.

I also have an early G37 and never heard of that tech bulletin, nor have I had a problem with scrolling audio presets. I certainly don’t intend to persue it now.

My service advisor volunteered me (with my persmission) to work with a traveling team of engineers from Infiniti. They're working on the next gen of the Nav. They're going to the major cities and ramdonly selecting people from different ethnic groups to read back commands. The goal is to educate the software to understand just about any voice which could issue a command. I spent over 1 hour just reading off commands from a computer screen and they recorded it. Trust me, they're planning on expanding the vocabulary. I also made $200 for my one hour.

I don't use my voice commands either, because its so limited and doesn't help at all. If i had the full nav voice commands though i probably would use it much more.
