Last week I purchased a 2010 G 37 with 12K miles for $27.6K. The car is a basic coupe but the price I thought was fair so I decided to purchase. Yes, the car had a clean Carfax and there is not even a single scratch on the car. Being a Ferrari owner, I also count rock chips and this car had 3 tiny rock chips.

The non-S's are everywhere in my area for sale and most are not selling. Some reductions are down to average trade-in value on the lots. One cannot compare an S with a non-S Journey or a Base. They are two completely different cars and the selling prices reflect that.

A 25k mile 2008 Liquid Platinum S Coupe on Graphite with navigation and automatic with 20" Ruff's just sold in one day on Craigslist for $25,500 (private seller). Luckily, we were interested in it the since my wife just had an "LP" '08 S sedan she sold over the summer.

I am a car salesman here at Harte Infiniti in Hartford, CT, we have the exact coupe you are looking at with 23xxx on the clock and we are asking 28,000 certified with a 6 year 100,000 mile warranty. I know that there is room to work in your deal. You could probably get the car for 26,500 OTD but it all depends on what the dealership owns the car for. Take a shot at them with that number, and they will probably come back at you with $27,000 if thats the case take it!! good luck. you can pm me with any questions you may have.

and people you cant compare a price that a private seller is advertising and what a dealership is advertising. you get much more value in the car when you buy it from a infiniti store.

when you buy from an infiniti store you get a warranty which adds value, when the car comes to the dealership on trade or off leasem before they put it out on the front lawn to sellit, it goes through the shop and we do any kind of work that it needs (brakes, tires, oil change, etc) which if you were to buy from a private seller you would be responsible to fix if you needed to. Wouldnt you say that adds a little more value to a car than if you were to buy if privately?

Isn't the warranty transferable if you buy it from a private party? While I do agree that you should carry a little more clout in the repair shop if you purchased it there. If you buy it from a private party, you get to talk to the original owner and get a feel for how it was driven and maintained. On a car with a full warranty, most people take it to the dealer for service, so it may be less of help with a newer car. I have purchased from both over the years, and I generally appreciate dealing with the person that has actually driven the car, and who better knows its history? I've been in personal garages/shops where you can tell the owner is a knowledgeable perfectionist and bought the vehicle, and I've talked to people who don't believe in regular oil changes and I have walked. Buying from a dealer you never know who owned it, and you are paying extra for less historical data.

I look nation-wide for a vehicle. Buying used AWD vehicles in Colorado I would pay 20-30% more for the same vehicle. Plus I get cars in better shape that have never seen snow. Book a quick one-way cheap flight, and you get your first road trip right away.
